Christopher Morel just hitting absolute tape measure moon shots, you would have thought it was the mid 90's again these last few days of these upper deck balls he has crushed. He just hit the train in Houston during this Cubs vs Astros game.

The AL East is a bizarre, wacky place where the last place team has a record over .500. And has a better record than most teams in other divisions.
The AL East's fifth place Red Sox would be second place in the AL Central, AL West, NL East, and tied for second with the Pirates in the NL Central.

So the real St Louis Cardinals have finally stood up.
10 run 8th inning capped by a Knizner Grand Slam and the Cards are curb stomping Milwaukee’s ass 18-1.

The Central is so winnable that the Cardinals even after their awful start still have a shot at it. The Pirates are probably a year or two away, and the Brewers probably want an excuse to trade Burnes at the deadline rather than go for it, so that leaves the Cardinals and Cubs as having real shots at the division. Obviously the Cardinals don’t have much margin for error now, though. Another extended bad stretch and it might be too big of a hole.

There's still 14 months of baseball left.

Yankees offense is waking up but their pitching is gassed out
Judge has come off the injured list and smacking homeruns. Volpe has broken out his cold spell streak as well but his speed makes a ton of difference something Yankees haven't had in years
Rizzo has been the steady force in the lineup despite the injuries and been underrated in having one of his better seasons thus far

Pirates were killing first month and still holding on to 2nd spot but slowly slipping

Yeah, it is a super long season and shit can either go good or it can go left Matt Chapman was ripping the cover off the ball and has hit like .150 for May so far The only thing for certain is Oakland will be ass all season

There's still 14 months of baseball left. Yeah, there are teams who you know will be bad (Oakland, Rockies, etc), but in a marathon season you’ll have good and bad stretches. Some times those bad stretches happen early in the season so it looks bad but can easily be turned around. The Cardinals start was really bad but they are in a division where that can be made up over the next few months as they start winning. If they were in the AL East, then starting off as badly as they did would have likely been too big of a hole. In the Central, it’s just a bad stretch.

Yermin Mercedes was Rookie of the Month in April 2021, he was sent back down to the minors in July. Clayton Kershaw sucked in the first couple of months in 2015, ended the year with a 2.13 ERA and finished 3rd in Cy Young voting. Too early to read anything into the season.

The rest of the year he went 7-10 with a 4.25 ERA. Amazing early, average the rest of the way.

Pitchers are so at a premium and Miami has such a log jam of talent at that position, they were able to sell him off at a great price because I still don't know why Twins traded Arraez. I get he has no real position but you can play him all over the field and stick him at first as a worst case scenario

But not sure why Minny with their offensive issues would deal a fantastic contact hitter. Gallo is doing better, but he just sells our for dingers. And Buxton and Correa are just dinged up all the time. They're in an immensely winnable Central, but could be undone by their hitting.

Kick Domingo German off the team That boy got caught cheating again There is that little issue of him being the Yankees' second best starting pitcher behind Cole at the moment. Besides, does any Yankee fan want to be subjected to Clarke Schmidt any more than we have to? The latest development is really gonna leave the Yankee bullpen scuffling for innings as they're already overworked. Plus, German will probably be looking at a 10 game suspension, at least.

Sadly, he's the 2nd best pitcher but if ole boy keep getting caught he's going to be useless Just don't know what he was thinking knowing they already watching him. He might as well had a big visible blob of resin or something if he going get caught like when Pineda had an assload of tar on his neck and acted like no one was going to catch him
