Maybe it's just the breakdown of which teams are rooted for on this board, but man, I actually was just like, dang, who's actually good this year? Even actually going to the MLB standings page the only division that's really "as expected" is the NL West, and who the heck actually picked Tampa to run away with things? The thing is, my Padres are good on paper, and the pitching rotation and ESPECIALLY our bullpen are pretty rock solid, and there are really not a ton of complaints, defensively. Now we just need the batting order to show the f*** up. |

I hope Schmitt has pitched his last game for the Yankees, because he sucks, unacceptable performance today, he has to go. Hopefully Sevi will pitch the next turn, every time the Yankees may get a win streak going, he has to screw it up. If Schmitt goes, good riddance, I have seen it happen to many times this year, especially since most of the team he has followed up Cole. Cole gets the Yankees, and the next day Schmitt be Schmitt, I can't take his crap anymore. The Yankees offense is finally getting going, and this is how he pays back their run support? After what the Yankees did yesterday, a major league pitcher takes that momentum and shuts the Rays down.

Schmidt is a long relief option that's been forced into the rotation because of injuries. The performance he had, coupled with Boonochio's tendency to try and steal outs, was a very likely outcome this afternoon. |

The best part about Sevy coming back soon is that Schmidt goes somewhere else when he comes back. Whether that's the bullpen, the minors, another team, or DFAtown is anyone's guess.

Most Frustrating part is that nobody is doing anything. Buck is sticking to stupid platoons. The kids are still in the minors. No changes. None of the issues that came back to haunt us down the stretch last year (lack of power and consistent offense) were addressed in the off-season.
