So is the US title basically the RAW world title now?

Considering Austin cashed in (and failed) to win the US title, and the US title being the focal point of RAW most weeks, is it safe to say that the US title is basically the RAW title? I mean, Roman has the actual WWE World Championship, but he rarely shows up on RAW in the first place, they might as well just make the US belt the RAW World Championship. I will say that they've built it up pretty well as an important title.

I think it'd be smart to put SOMETHING there if the Undisputed/Universal is gonna be at that unattainable tier indefinitely. You could have titles at the level that world titles were previously at if you're gonna keep Roman so far above everyone else just so there's something to fight for in men's singles at the top of each show.

I read a report that that was the idea behind the cash in. The US Title is the top on Raw and he's now in the mix with Seth, Lashley, and (by extension) Lesnar. So yeah he failed the cash in on the US Title but it was done to solidify him in the Raw main event picture.

Okay? He still had him beat so they can go that route with the story if they want him to still be in the mix. Or if they want to shuffle him down the card, they can still do that as well. Works either way.

Considering that the case was wasted this year, it's a bad piece of booking no matter your opinion on Theory. If he ain't the dude, then put the thing on someone who is and don't make him look like a complete and utter dickhead.

They have two cases every single year. It’s not a travesty to the booking if they even just skipped MITB for a few years, as sometimes it’s relied on as a crutch, so I’m not concerned that the case was wasted (it’s a question if it even was wasted as it gave Theory a chance to do a lot more character work and be involved in a lot of major storylines with top guys when he’s arguably not even ready for that high of a spot on the card).

As for whether Theory should be taken seriously moving forward, that’s all going to be in the follow up as to whether he is or is not. The cash-in failing is not going to make or break him, particularly as his character has always been as a bit of a goof anyway.
