Dolph is one of those guys where when he's not getting TV time, you miss him. He shows up again for a few weeks, cuts a promo like "If I get five seconds or five minutes, I'm that damn good every single time" and then you get excited and go "oh yeah, he IS that good." Then, after a few weeks you realize he's really only got one character trait - "overlooked" - which gets old after awhile. For whatever reason, the dude doesn't have top guy energy to me, but he's clearly a good babyface. I wouldn't mind seeing more of him, but maybe in a babyface tag team where he could be the hot tag. That feels like it'd be a good role for him now. For instance, I think Gable and Ziggler might be a fun odd couple tag team after this Alpha Academy stuff runs its course. It's time for Dolph to fulfill his destiny and fully become Billy Gunn 2.0.

*checks Dolph Ziggler's patches* You mean Megadeth. Where did they ever even find a misspelled patch?

I just gotta say. Ali f***ing sucks. Lol. They’ve been trying to make this dude a thing in like 4 different gimmicks. Enough. The push, or whatever they’re doing, has really exposed the guy.

I think Ali can definitely work as a face, but they've been throwing him against guys who might as well be faces like Rollins and Lashley
Plus he should probably be working his way up the card with some wins instead of just trying to jump to that level.

Doesn't help that Ali's current look is also basically the male version of this, but without the detailed backstory:

Winning a belt isn’t the only indication of a push. They’ve repacked Ali a couple of times now, as a face, as a heel and dude just doesn’t have the personality to get anything going. It’s always crickets when he shows up The guy has a personality and can talk. They just literally don't give him a chance to show it on TV. He's done countless promos on Twitter that show the guy knows how to talk and could be a player in the company. There was a real chance he was going to be slated for a title match at Mania against Bryan and the crowd seemed ready for it at the time. They've just never let the Ali that you see on other platforms onto TV. Is he a world champ? Maybe not. But he should be perceived as more of a threat than he is right now. I'm hopeful he tears it up on Friday against Ricochet and can build some momentum off that. They have never done anything with Ali on television. He tried like hell on social media to make Retribution make any kind of god damned sense... but none of it was ever mentioned or even referenced on TV. The dude's got talent and has charisma but that doesn't really matter if like they don't let him show it off.

I admire people who stick with their favorites through thick and thin (like our pal from Finland!), but I'm done caring about Ali in WWE. It's not his fault, but I can only watch the people I like look like goobers for so long before I give up.

Where did they ever even find a misspelled patch? I seem to recall at the time Ziggler explained it away as having requested the whole outfit with patches from WWE wardrobe and the seamstress had created the patch with presumably what she thought was the correct spelling.

Regarding Ali, he can absolutely work as a face or heel. Dude is plenty charismatic and can go in the ring. He's definitely damaged in the eyes of the crowds, but that'll happen when you're constantly given shit with no effort in booking until a couple of weeks ago.

When's the last time he won something that actually mattered? Oh, never. Can't imagine why fans think he's a bum.

Can't imagine why fans think he's a bum. he was one of the biggest losers in Brock winning the money in the bank... cause he was right there... and didn't just quickly grab the case. (Allegedly he was supposed to win originally before the idea to give it to Brock was decided on instead)

What a career it's been for Rudolph. Every time he's gotten hot they've done something to cut him off at the knees. I'll never forget when he got himself over again after being bodied by Ambrose at SummerSlam and won the IC Title from Miz in an emotional match, only for them to put it back on Miz and have Miz do a promo after the match about how much of a loser Dolph is.
