So, a few months ago, I was totally there: Taz, Tony, and Excalibur — best commentary team around. I still sort of think that.
But these past few weeks? They’re really joking. A lot. I watch the show without ad breaks and so, sometimes, I think they have to be on a break where they’re more focused on ribbing each other than the in-ring action. It’s distracting. It was distracting during Swerve vs Bowens.
Hopefully, they dial it back to where it was.

That was horrible last night. So much awkward silence between Tazz and Tony and Tony sounded legit upset with Tazz feeling the need to constantly correct him. Excalibur would just sigh and say stuff like "good stuff guys"

Yeah, most of the time they start clowning around during the ad breaks. I watch on Fite and as soon as Excalibur throws it to commercial they seem to just riff until he makes the announcement they're back live. Its a bit weird but they got good chemistry so for the most part its entertaining.

Eh. That’s part of the three’s chemistry I guess. I don’t mind the joking but miss me with the current commentary. Tony comes off so superfluous. Taz is fine, I like taz. Ex is like the Michael Cole of AEW, programmed to know moves, so I could take it or leave it with him.

Uh?? It's like always has been. Those watching it from FITE should be used to
They are far away from the annoyance the JBL-Michael Cole pairing was for me in WWE.

It was a little weird last night but I usually love the back and forth between the three.

The back and forths and riffing is literally some of my favorite parts about AEW commentary, and it makes it some of the most entertaining commentary in wrestling to me right now period

I wouldn't say too many at all but I feel they struggle with selling the more serious side of things. Sometimes I find it difficult to believe Excalibur or Tazz when they act annoyed or angry because I know they'll be laughing and ribbing with each other a few minutes later without any indication that they were angry. It's clear they all like each other which really helps general chemistry but it means disagreements between them don't feel as big a deal or as long lasting as say a JR/King disagreement would back in the day. Doesn't get close to ruining things for me at all I love the laid back commentary almost all of the time but I can see where people are coming from when they think there are too many jokes.

They do a pretty good job most weeks of keeping the back and forth going without too much effort - I like that a lot of what they do comes across as genuine which is more than can be said for other commentary line ups…

Alexa, show me a forum post that perfectly encapsulates the Old Man Yells At Cloud mentality.

It’s not even noticeable on the TNT broadcast, really, though there were a couple of times last night where Tony was still chuckling when they came off of the break, so I could tell they were going full AEW Dark (where the commentary is hilariously unhinged) during the breaks.

Alexa, show me a forum post that perfectly encapsulates the Old Man Yells At Cloud mentality. Are we already back to insulting people on this forum for a difference of opinion? I thought we all chilled out after the Punk stuff happened.

I love their chemistry. They were cracking more jokes last night but it was all in the breaks. I thought the on air stuff was fine.

I can see your point but don't agree
Weirdest bit for me was them making Taz and Ian repeat some shit from P in P on the main show
