PC, woke, DEI.....etc. They all mean the same thing to those who use them. Just codewords for what people really want to say but can't get through website filters. DEI is bad, but I do feel like the world has gotten more sensitive in a lot of ways

Apparently Musk has taken to banning accounts fundraising for Kamala Harris now, notably one called White Dudes for Harris had their account blocked after originally raising 4 million.
Surely that is crossing the line into electoral interference?

Remember when Musk said he wanted Twitter to be a "politically neutral forum" where free speech was paramount?
Fun times.

He is absolutely going to censor the word Weird eventually. If he'll pull that shit with "cis" then he would here.

Remember when Musk said he wanted Twitter to be a "politically neutral forum" where free speech was paramount? Fun times. Free speech is paramount, the freedom for him and other terminally online neeks and crackpots to say loads of racist and xenophobic and transphobic shit without consequence or accountability. PC, woke, DEI.....etc. They all mean the same thing to those who use them. Just codewords for what people really want to say but can't get through website filters. DEI is bad, but I do feel like the world has gotten more sensitive in a lot of ways It is, but it's loads more complicated than "Ah, the wokies and snowflakes are complaining again." I mean, the people who complain about woke and PC are some of the biggest and loudest whiners when someone says anything mean or critical about them; they whine about cancel culture and then get the arse and boycott things when they adopt a contrary stance. Now, is there an element of priggishness and moral absolutism in the world now? Yeah, I think there is, but the people who rail against it are the ones who created it. If you grew up in the nineties and noughties you were beaten over the head with various moral panics and conditioned to be outraged and morally superior by the reactionary tabloid media, then criticised by them when that manifests in the "wrong" way. This is very, very difficult to articulate without breaking loads of board rules so hopefully it makes sense.

It's not more sensitive but rather now segments of society who were previously silenced and marginalised are speaking up and pushing back and asserting themselves. The wealthy white male demographic who were and still are dominant are threatened by this, so they convince poor white males that the reason their life sucks is due to those people who are simply trying to reach a level of parity, rather than the wealthy white males who make them work shitty jobs for shitty pay, and spend extortionate amounts of money for essential life resources.

The most sensitive people are the ones who, say misinterpret something about the Greek god Dionysus thinking it's about the Last Supper and flood social media with their ignorant, impotent rage.

God, the reactions to the opening ceremony really turned the tables and showed who really *are* the easily offended ones.

Don't mean to add to the pile but I just had to chime in.
But how does wanting to be treated like a basic human being means being "sensitive"?

No, you see, if you can't handle having dog shit posted through your letterbox and swastikas spraypainted on your front gate, or being called a paedophile, then you just need to toughen up. But if you think any of that is wrong then you literally advocate for a genocide of hetereosexual white men.

Idiots just use the word because they see it as censoring how they can act. As a kid I used to see the rednecks who worked for my dad (as fitters and foreman) making all kinds of N word jokes at work, with the black guys being apprentices or helpers who had to sit there and be "good sports". So yeah that kind of garbage changing isnt being too sensitive.

I find it funny that a trust fund brat is calling someone a DEI hire.
And by funny I mean irritating.

As a Christian, I’ve seen a lot of my friends and family on Facebook going on for days about this. My first and only response to it all was “And?” People have talked about the real intent behind the opening ceremony but, even if it was some sort of intentional mockery, so what?

lAny confirmation on why? Speculation for now, but given the lack of support for the native app over the last year and the fact that the iPad version is available, it seems like Musk had it pulled.
