I mean, these are the same kinds of people who would have been reporting their neighbours and co-workers as Communists back in the '50s and '60s, so probably not. Hell, judging from the profile pictures, some of these f***wits are probably old enough to have actually reported their neighbours and co-workers as Communists back in the '50s and '60s That's how secret police in history like the Stasi, SAVAK and Gestapo worked, with relatively few active operatives being assisted by citizens informing on each other. Ultimately, the best way to counter Musk and his sycophants is for corporations and public institutions to leave Twitter, and use their own websites to convey information to users. Mass social media run by horrible people can still work, but not if those horrible people are also inept. |

I wish the absolute f***ing worst for Elon Musk. I'm glad my project account got suspended and my personal one is private. In the private one, I mostly have blocked people from high school. Most of these accounts are inactive anyways. I do feel the pain for those that use the block feature. |

is that for a paid account or for a free account? because elon is going to make it so a tweet's total view count for every tweet is going towards your limit so he can try to claim money from people. he's going to pull something even more incredibly stupid than normal and kill twitter and then blame everyone else despite it being 100% one of his ketamine fuelled brainfarts and trying to stealth charge people for inflated views they haven't made isn't it. also at what point do medical professionals step in and have him taken in for psychological evaluation & rehab for his "self medication" habit? |

The site is never actually going to die unless they actually do enough for Apple and Google to get involved No other site still exists that can replace Twitter or its traffic capabilities, BlueSky is dragging its ass and has very similar problems and Threads is just a subsidiary of Instagram and not a replacement. Unless Twitter gets forcibly shut down or gets sold, it's never going to outright die |
