This is good news for him, now as others have said let's hope TK knows how to properly use him. Sky is the limit. I don't want to be here in a year talking about Takeshita as on of Tony's biggest dropped balls. Push this man!

How anyone can find a negative about signing people like Takeshita & Bandido I will never know, these are people who can be difference makers.
Oh yeah, a huge, gorgeous man with agility and a tiny powerhouse superhero with a marketable mask, both of whom can have great matches with every "difference maker," have no marketing potential whatsoever. Sure man. I'm always baffled at takes that are grounded in the idea that there's no ability whatsoever for someone new to make a splash.

Takagi saw how their attendance numbers have plummeted since Takeshita has been away and wanted to make sure he can keep him in some way.

Mark Madden is a useless waste of space who’s sucked the life out of every room he’s ever been in.

"I've never heard of them, so obviously, no one else will ever care about them." I absolutely hate this mindset. I was a child during the Attitude Era. I only watched WWE, no WCW. I had no idea who Chris Jericho was, or why he was a big deal. I didn't have access to the internet, so I'd never heard of Kaientai or the Dudley Boyz before. But you know what? WWE put them on my screen, and I watched them, and I became a fan. That's how you get people to care about your wrestlers. You put different people on the show, and you let them show the fans what they can do, and that's how you get new fans.

Happy for Mark Madden that he seems to have found a new career path in being consistently ratio’d. Couldn’t have happened to a better guy.

Mark Madden makes Larry Zybyzco look like a commentator who gave a shit about anyone other than himself by comparison.

Unless you've got friends who are way plugged in and they'll explain why they're freaking out about someone showing up, you probably aren't getting a lore dump on why you should be excited about them, either. Nobody forms into existence and immediately becomes a difference maker or is a megastar; they show up, they connect with the audience, and then they can start to move the needle. The desire for someone to magically show up and move heaven and earth for you isn't realistic, has monstrous diminishing returns, is logically gated by how much people actually can pull that off on name alone, and promotions that have leaned too hard into this strategy (TNA) have bombed because it's not sustainable. Bandido and Takeshita are guys you bring in on the hope they can become difference makers, but who in the meantime are so demonstrable able to connect to their existing audience that they will still sustain that interest, put on good shows, and sell merch. And selling merch to the choir is a piece that these miserable old farts really undersell the importance of.

One of my key issues with AEW sometimes is that they are too reliant on people knowing who someone is. While the WWE attitude of 'no wrestling exists but us' is extremely stupid in many ways, the fact they actually consciously try to establish basically every character is very helpful to getting people over if you have never heard of them

Takeshita has the athleticism of Ibushi, the charisma of Okada, and the connection of Tanahashi.

Madden has such a short-sighted and US-centric view. They come with existing fans. Takeshita's aew matches will be on Wrestle Universe, reaching fans of three (plus) promotions. Plus it's likely WWE, NJPW and other fans will subscribe for the first time to see Mutoh Vs Nakamura they'll see an aew match below. In turn the more that watch on njpw world the better for aew.
Also both Takeshita or Bandinto have joined as people with a past but essentially a fresh start. They mostly lose and are given a chance to win over aew fans as proper members of the roster.

Mark Madden is a useless waste of space who’s sucked the life out of every room he’s ever been in. I'm still not over that dumbass argument he had with Nicole Matthews on Twitter just because he vanity-searched her saying his Nitro commentary sucked.

He was one of the reasons why WCW was a chore to watch during the final years. And it's ironic that he says this when the company that employed him introduced alot of foreign talent that connected to fans including the current ROH World Champion and one Smackdown's top guys.

A Chris Jericho who didn't spend the time he did in Mexico and Japan would be an objectively worse Chris Jericho and super not the all-timer he ended up as. Dumbasses like Madden and Russo who fell into the business without knowing it let their close-mindedness shine through in big ways on this kind of topic. Absolutely no surprise he's specifically complaining about a Mexican and a Japanese wrestler by name as the ones who won't draw. It's the same shit every time with them because they can't fathom that the audience wants to see variety and wants to see the best regardless of where they're from.
