With how all the place the reporting's been on this, I'll believe he's going back to WWE when he's actually on WWE TV or Triple H does one of his pointing photos with him.

Had vague memories of Snitsky and Goldust being a tag team for a minute and looking into that saw that once Heat did a match of Brian Kendrick, Super Crazy & Val Venis vs. Snitsky, Charlie Haas & Robbie McAllister and like what the f***.

I was like did they put Chainz from the DOA into this game?

Ahh, the illusive Golden Snitsky agreement. That's an honor Gene didn't even get in his career. Everyone mentions Snitsky feet era but no one talks about how Tomko was his ambiguously gay friend I remember Cena walking in on them massaging each other, but the real gold (pun fully intended) was the perverted tag team with Goldust in ‘06.

Heat in 2008 (near the end of its run) was literally BattleBowl at points.

Why on earth would he be such a big part of the angle if he was leaving? Turn him heel on his own faction & tease Moxley & Danielson having tension around Mox getting his hands on him, just to write him out by having the big heel take him out?
If he does go back to WWE he should immediately be paired with Austin Theory circuitous route to the US title. Confusing the audience is the new kayfabe I suppose.

I'll be so sad if I don't get to hear Regal flirt with Excalibur anymore.
That's my only real contribution to this at this point.

I do kinda get it if the idea was to write him out while also using him in their desperate attempts to go against how much crowds want to cheer MJF, but even in that case it'd have made more sense to have had MJF do something to Regal as his plan to beat Moxley, like getting in his head by suddenly seriously injuring him in the match somehow.

Regal just a few weeks back on his podcast said it was kind of frustrating how rare it is for people to come up and ask him for advice in AEW which is a common theme for AEW veterans to point out. Regal, Jake Roberts, Billy Gunn, Danielson, Arn Anderson, JR and even the muffin man have all expressed the same sentiment in the past year or so. Danielson would hold optional in-ring training sessions before doors opened at Dynamite and hardly anyone would attend. I remember him putting over Jade big for always being one of the few to turn up and wanting to learn.
Regal may be used to NXT with younger/less experienced wrestlers and prefers to take on the teacher/mentor role behind the scenes rather than simply being an on-screen character.
I doubt it even means the roster all think they're the finished article and don't need help. They just probably all have their own specific guys they trust and go to for advice. Like Cody had his crew who would go to him (MJF, Starks, Wardlow, Jade, Sammy). Jericho clearly seems to have his clique who would come to him. Same with Kenny and the Bucks.

Regarding advice/input/feedback:
It would be ideal if the younger wrestlers took advantage of the veterans, but unless those vets are producers or some kind of talent relations, that doesn't seem like it will happen automatically. The vets seem to take it as some kind of disrespect, but maybe the younger wrestlers simply aren't comfortable going & asking.
If someone like Regal is a talent relations exec & approaches a wrestler with comments about matches, promos, their presentation they will automatically listen. If Regal is being used as a TV character and nothing more, then they probably just move on.

I mean, I don't see what Regal would do in WWE would be different than he would for AEW but that's just me. Like, I'm fine with it, just that this whole situation has been messy reporting wise. How did we get a year to 3 years to 10 months? as I said in the other thread in the WWE section, Regal may just not be cut out for the constant travel anymore. When he was in NXT he was mostly located in Florida. Except when he was doing his talent scout stuff which is probably not as rough a schedule as an active on screen figure is.

I love Regal, he's an all-timer for me so when he turned up in AEW it was a win-win situation for me.
But I simply can't resent him for returning to WWE if that's what's happening, it's where he belongs.

I thought Regal quit all his corporate rolls within WWE for his health, and switched to a purely on screen role on NXT, which is why he then got cut as a performer.
I can't see why he would be going back to take on even more responsibility if his health was why he stopped in the first place, but then he certainly seems to be going back.
There feels like there is more to this story still to come out. It doesnt feel 'right' yet.
