I know Regal has a reputation as being a smart guy but if he had the foresight to get that clause put in his contract that is next level. Like in early 2022 who honestly expected Vince to be gone and HHH running the company this soon? Most assumed Vince would likely hold onto power for years to come.

If this is true, someone should ask Regal for the lottery numbers. When he signed for AEW, Trips was well on the outs.

I like how AEW has practically written him out of their storylines 2 weeks in a row

That's insane if Regal actually put a clause in like that
Like the dude must have known something if that's the case
Also kinda sucks because it seems pretty clear this is why BCC's crumbled and maybe that's also why Daniel Garcia's storyline also just halted and he went back to JAS? There's a lot to consider here for when HHH got into Power and where Regal's storylines were. The awkward beats or pulled reigns might've been because of that.

Regarding advice/input/feedback: It would be ideal if the younger wrestlers took advantage of the veterans, but unless those vets are producers or some kind of talent relations, that doesn't seem like it will happen automatically. The vets seem to take it as some kind of disrespect, but maybe the younger wrestlers simply aren't comfortable going & asking. If someone like Regal is a talent relations exec & approaches a wrestler with comments about matches, promos, their presentation they will automatically listen. If Regal is being used as a TV character and nothing more, then they probably just move on. We have to take into consideration that the vets also are from an era, that dictates that if a person does not make the attempt to shake hands with everyone backstage when arriving, and I mean everyone, then they are considered disrespectful. These old requirements that are expected to be adhered to as if they are "that's the way it is" guidelines, may be archaic but they are still prominent and looked at as signs of gauging commitment outside of the ring. You can't gather a large group of older established wrestlers together and not expect this regardless of how times have changed from a social standpoint.

If Regal actually has that clause that is insane. I can only assume it's a thing he threw in as a long shot and Tony granted just on the basis of, "Like that'll happen."

Either Regal is the reincarnation of Nostradamus or Alvarez or his "WWE sources" are talking out of their asses. Because that sounds way too ridiculous to be believable out of hand.

This is also why I'm thinking about the storylines Regal was tied up in, and some things like Garcia's turn halting and BCC falling apart I almost feel like HHH went into power and then Khan had to look at Regal like "Well f*** dude now I need to re-write everything I guess", it'd sure make a lot of sense as to why some things ended up where they were. And it's just also make Regal look like a god damn genius for even being able to look that far ahead, let alone for it to both happen that Vince stepped down, and that HHH would come back after his health scare and take over lol.

I doubt it would be exactly a "If triple H takes power" but there could be something along the lines if his older job called he could have the option to go back.

I’m going to have to see if this is in writing somewhere. Ain’t no way he signed anything saying that…

That’d be such a Homer Simpson situation for Tony. Lol “Heh heh. Triple H in power. What a useless clause.” 10 months later “D’OH!!!!”

Vince being a stubborn old shithead and going out there on TV amid allegations, HHH having a health scare and literally not even running NXT anymore? It's not crazy anymore because it happened, but I can imagine if the clause is real and it was put in, it had to feel like a longshot and Regal almost hoping for the best.

It’s very Homer Simpson bad luck No you are absolutely right, it really is, especially given if it's real I think Tony had to curb a lot of BCC related plans and essentially end them/re-route storylines over the last month or so if Regal was like "Well HHH is back, guess I'm gonna be hittin' that old Dusty Trail!" It's one of those things though where I assume Tony would put it in to stay on Regals good graces too. Regal never wanted to leave WWE, he was forced out and AEW gave him a home until the chaos blew over, hopefully if this is all true and Regal's going back, he remembers that.

I feel like putting a stipulation in like that is still stupid even if it was a long shot. That sounds like a clause you’d put in a worked contract during a signing segment.

Regal's very close to HHH and also got fired under very weird circumstances It might've been what kept Regal from signing or not, if it was included Mind you, if this is real and this is a real clause.
