About 3 years ago I created a thread here about LU guys that still hadn't been signed anywhere at the time. Marty was at the top of that list. If you would have told me back then that Marty would STILL be unemployed in the wrestling business I wouldn't have believed you. He has size, he can move really well for that size. He can work and he's a hell of a character. Even if AEW or WWE won't take him for whatever stupid reason, you're telling me companies like MLW, NWA or Impact can't find a use for him?! NWA is full of washed up mid 2000's WWE developmental guys. Their world champion is Tyrus! You're telling me Marty isn't a better answer than Tyrus???!!! Josh Alexander is magnificent. Marty isn't a better opponent for Alexander than Eric Young for a PPV main event in 2022?!🤦♂️🤬 Give me Marty vs Hammerstone or Fatu in MLW. I do not understand these promoters unless he was quietly Me Too'd. Yeah there's so many options, you didn't even mention STRONG as a possibility. The fact that other than three matches on Dark he hasn't shown up anywhere since LU is baffling. For what it's worth (absolutely nothing) Marty also appeared for the short lived Ring Warriors promotion which aired at like 3am, Monday mornings on WGN in late 2018. Guys that also wrestled on that show include Jeff Kobb, Killer Kross and Eli Drake. All currently signed by major companies, while Marty is still waiting for his ship to come in. 🤦♂️

Man, it did my heart good when I saw this thread, came here to post Richard Steamboat, and saw he was the very first name mentioned. Handsome dude, smooth in the ring, radiating incredible babyface energy. I think he had it all. I hope he's doing well.

I know absolutely nothing about her wrestling ability (I actually knew about her before I got back into wrestling), but I feel like Reika Saiki would've been huge outside of Japan just based on her looks alone.

The Ascension were dope as shit and should have gotten a major push instead of being immediately buried and pinned by f***in JBL of all people

Portia Perez!! Not great in the ring but an absolute pleasure listening to her on the mic!
Bob Bradley only saw him as an WWF jobber but the guy seemed talented enough for at least a mini push.

3 minute warning - Great look and dudes who could work really well. I think they should have let them destroy everyone in under 3 minutes for a while but seemed to drop that pretty quick and gave up on the team. Great theme also
Raven in WWE - hardcore match with Rhyno at backlash showed he could still go. Was getting good good reactions from the crowd even when he wasn’t being used. Sad that Vince didn’t like him.
The Lovely Lacey (shimmer) - I consider her the best women’s wrestler in the 2000’s. Tremendous worker in ring and on the microphone. Just never got her big break.
Facade - unique look and fun to watch. Would have liked to see him in AEW or 205 live (when it existed)

Richie Steamboat - My personal biggest "What if?" in wrestling. Kid was a f***ing natural and way more handsome than Ricky. Still watch his match with Seth Rollins in FCW every couple years and admire his smoothness. Rene Dupree - I remember the rumors of the higher ups loving him and I was right there with them. Had a great look and while unpolished, I felt he had 'the feel' of things and knowing what was needed to get over between the tinkler and bringing Fifi to the ring. Really liked his feud with Cena and his team with Kenzo Suzuki. Even after the wellness violations they wanted to keep him but he left on his own accord after the Benoit tragedy caused him to relapse. I admire someone who can admit when he needs to step back. Least he's carved out a long solid career on the indies and various promotions. I've seen a few of his podcasts editions and he's an enjoyable guy. Ashley Massaro/Kaitlyn - Both of whom I wish could've started a few years later when NXT came under HHH/Dusty's control. Ashley never got the training she should've but was by all accounts a sweetheart and went 100% in for everything she was given. Had she started later she might've avoided the alleged abuses she went through. Kaitlyn also was a great sport and even though she won the title it never felt like they cared much for her. Don't blame her for leaving for her family but you can tell she cared about the business. Good list. Its sad to here what happened with some of these. The Ashley story is just so heartbreaking he had to go through that. I think Ashley would've had a much better shot at sticking around and being a bigger star had she came up later. It's extremely disappointing to think about with what ultimately happened.

Even though he was in WWE for a decent chunk of time, they could have done so much more with Chris Masters. I loved the Masterlock Challenge, and plus he really improved a lot and slimmed down post-wellness and got better in the ring. I think he has a bit more charisma than he was really allowed to show in WWE. This is who I was going to say as well.

Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon. They'd be a top tag team in the world if they were in their prime now.

Speaking of which, if a decent sized promotion doesn't sign Martin Casaus soon, like, come on? I know he had a three match run in AEW that never materialized into anything. I do not understand these promoters unless he was quietly Me Too'd. Rumors for years was Marty had issues. Never seen it confirmed. But makes sense why he never made it bigger than LU. Last I heard he was still bouncing around Utah indies with all those guys.

Great theme also With both the rumor was always drug issues. Rosey had them for sure later on,that is why WWE didn't resign him. And why once Rosey was on the indies his booking manager dropped him fast.

I thought it was a WGN exclusive? I can't remember the exact time slot but it was terrible. I had my DVR set for it at whatever time it came on. The show honestly wasn't that great either.

It was on WGN for me too, just on a different day from you. I have Dish Network, but their DVR system can be unreliable if they don't have the show's date listing right, so I have to manually restore the future recording when that happens. The show's quality did suck because of all the dumb finishes, agreed. At least Jeff Cobb won the World title tournament instead of Wes Briscoe, however.

Psychosis should have been a major star, instead of that guy who Mysterio always beat.
