If his door was always open then how did the Bucks kick it in? Checkmate.

Dax really needs to just stop talking. About anything. Ever.

I'm sure there are some very reasonable conversations to be had with a guy who said "I'm trying to run a business here" at a public event where he was seated next to his actual employer.

I am sure Punk made a lot of detractors when he declared himself as AEW locker room leader and demanded others to pick up after themselves.

The point that sort of gets to me is Dax comparing Punk to Sasha. Like, sure, they both basically walked out and don't seem to be able to come to terms with their employer but it wasn't like Sasha did anything close to what Punk did. Her and Naomi basically set out to try and help a belt that one of them begged for and the ideas they were coming up involved anything but to the point where they felt the only way to get their point across was to walk out and for all the jokes of "Boo boo face" or whatever, they at least have good enough PR people to keep them in the public eye and get speculation out on where they'll next show up. Especially since I'm pretty sure the main roster would sacrifice Aaliyah to the alter to get both of them back right now.
Punk decided to not only flare up in a public setting, burying the entirety of management, got into a fight about it and tried to spread a rumor that they hit his dog. It's not entirely the same. And I'm not even saying Tony Khan or The Elite or anyone else dealt with stuff well but that goes out the window when you decide to ruin your own case and hinder other people around you. Like, there's a whole faction right now that has no direction a six-man title that needs proper establishing and challengers needed for MJF ready to go all because Punk got himself and several other suspended. It cannot be stressed enough how much that's affected the show and how many band-aids needed to be placed until Full Gear. We could all tell.

It's almost like people are complicated creatures that can be nice and kind to some people, while also being a dick to others.
This also isn't any different from what we already know. Punk did want to give advice and help people as a locker room leader, but he didn't seem equipped to deal with people saying no.

"Man with known history of dick-headed and childish behavior, sometimes even on camera, was always exceptionally nice to me; ergo he can't be capable of dick-headed and childish behavior" is one of those arguments I hear that always makes me scratch my head.

The guy who said "My door is always open, this isn't macho shit; come talk to me" about a few people he had an issue with, then told them on an international broadcast to come talk to him again, then assaulted them when they did. The most approachable man.

It all comes from a place of passion. Well that’s ok then. I was going to say that it’s completely unacceptable for a grown man to start b******g about his former best friend out of nowhere, bury co-workers on the microphone, makes his boss look weak and publicly go against 3 of the main reasons for AEW starting and one it’s biggest acts all the while completely f*****g up several talents creative plans BUT now that I know it came from a place of passion…..that’s alright then

He wants to be respected and it's not like people haven't (Hobbs said he was a big help to him as an example) but he doesn't seem to deal well with people who have their own philosophies with things or even if their intentions are different or come off as negative to him. And that's not even to say he can't come back or anything, it's more that he didn't seem prepared for that, especially considering how much the business changed in his 7 years away. Heck, Impact changed networks at least twice during that time.

People do this all the time. "He/she was nice to me therefore he/she can't possibly have been an asshole to you"

Yeah it's not uncommon for friends to defend eachother, but when even the most casual observer can see how much Punk was in the wrong, it's best he just stop talking.

It cannot be stressed enough how much that's affected the show and how many band-aids needed to be placed until All Out. We could all tell. That's exactly what it comes down to. The way Punk exploded, aired his dirty laundry publicly, buried his colleagues & management, claimed he was running a business as if he owned the damn place, all the while sitting right next to his boss, even cutting him off for that matter when Tony tried steering the conversation away....and then starting a fight he precipitated when he openly invited anyone who had a problem with him to take it up with him.
What Punk did was unprecedented, and then you look at how much the entire incident hurt AEW's public image, ruined locker room morale, and left multiple holes that had to be filled going forward with many people being suspended. That's not even including him trying to tarnish the company on the way out.
