Making a thread for this cause I don't wanna spam the Topics That Don't.. thread with live Thunderdome dog reactions while I watch these shows for the first time after dipping out on wrestling for like all of 2020 and most of 2021.
On Clash Of Champions 2020 right now
- Sami vs. AJ vs. Jeff in a ladder match was f***ing great and Sami looked like a Trickster God winning this. Dude snuck in several pairs of handcuffs, cuffed Jeff by the earlobe to a ladder, tried to cuff AJ but AJ managed to turn it around to cuff him, and then got the key *out of his mouth* to uncuff himself and cuff AJ so he could win.
- Randy vs Drew in an ambulance match was like 300 years long and Drew needed 3 interferences to barely win it. Drew looked like such a joke it was unreal.
- Roman vs Jey was every bit as good as I'd heard it was until actually seeing it now. 11/10 storytelling the whole time and Roman was already the most convincing Final Boss in the business. Jimmy staring at Roman to end the show like "holy shit you better not have killed him" was SO GOOD dude.
I'm on NXT In Your House now and not even 10 minutes in, Code Orange are all up in my damn face and the bassist won't stop making a cat puke face

Absolutely appalled that The Way started as Johnny Gargano being dark and brooding coming out to rap metal. What the f*** dude
Mauro Ranallo just called dude Johnny Ruthless. I think Triple H might have tried smoking pencils when this show happened. Johnny literally starts banging on the prop door like LET ME OUT OF HEEERE and it's f***ing hilarious. I wish he did that in the pre-match promo instead of sulk at his dinner table.

My favorite match from this era was Kairi Sane's final WWE match. It was against Bayley on a random Raw. Absolutely worth seeking out.

The Thunderdome was far from perfect, but goddamn was it much better than the PC.

The Thunderdome was far from perfect, but goddamn was it much better than the PC. I did like the in-between period:

I could probably remember the results of a PPV 25-30 years ago more than I could remember a thing about one from 2020. Things move too fast nowadays we need to take the Ferris Bueller approach to Premium Live Events: If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Absolute bravery, this endeavor is. My TV's On Demand section literally has every Extreme Rules except for 2020 and I'm not even letting that stop me from Swamp Fight

Genuinely can't think of anything bleaker than when there was a chance that cinematic matches could be the future of wrestling.

Wait if you saw the ambulance match I hope that means you saw Solid Snake Orton sneaking into the poker game to murder the legends with a chair.

The Sting & Darby vs. Team Taz match was like 800 years too long for me and it only actually ran for like 15 minutes I found out, this one is probably gonna be 800 years actually.

The first couple of cinematic matches were interesting, but the gimmick quickly wore itself out. Thankfully, everyone who was using them stopped doing so once live audiences could attend shows again.

Resuming NXT In Your House from where I left off (I think I was halfway thru Lee vs. Gargano? good ass match obviously)
- Von Wagner is in the crowd. Watching. Waiting. - I forgot about the absolute F tier Slipknot song that was NXT's theme for a bit. Down South is better than like every black/gold NXT theme I remember except ROAR OF THE CROWD STOMP YR FEET GET LOUD, fight me. - Keith Lee in terrible pain yelled OH SHOOT. I'm not kidding. Arm ache never stop Big Bear.
