So last year I read the classic Crime And Punishment, by Fyodor Dostoevsky. This year I've steadily gone through as much of his work as possible, knocking out his major works and working my way through his lesser known works and short stories.
I'm wondering if anyone else here has read anything by Dostoevsky, or even knows anything of his extraordinary life? For those that don't know, he was sentenced to be executed for political dissidence, and at the very very last second, while tied and blindfolded, he was pardoned and sent to Siberia for hard labor. His sentence was cut short only so that he could serve an amount of time in the Army. Afterwards he struggled with seizures, debt, and a gambling addiction while writing some of the best literature ever written.
