Also its easy to say "just do another fun lighted thread" but all of you know it doesnt work like that, some type of fun just happens organically, you cant just make "the general thread look strong" .Especially when a lot of news about the scrum are still going. Being passive aggressive when people bring a love 600+ page thread also isnt helpful at all to the situation(not singling you out, went to read AskAMod, there was a few occasions). Just makes the people more mad and it becomes a cycle of pettiness and madness. Its locked and eventually it will run out of peoples system

Project is such a vague term it could literally mean anything in aew or outside AEW.Not that I expect him to do anything in AEW

Punk vs. Omega kind of just sounds like an utter mess of a match to me, mostly in that Punk even in his prime probably wouldn't be able to keep up with Kenny's pace but is arrogant enough that he'd try. Just feels destined to wind up an aimless botchfest where someone might get seriously hurt.

Exactly and we saw how those buckshots went...I can't imagine Punk's skinny fatass style would mix with Omega's fluid movements at all

This isnt even a joke, but Punk probably would get injured trying to keep up with Omega.

I'm sure Omega could pace himself to Punk but I think Punk wouldnt accept that

Punk and Omega are both amazing in-ring storytellers. If they were able to sit down and craft a match together, it'd probably be amazing. But like most people on here, I can't see Punk realizing his physical limitations because he never has at any point in his career. Punk has never needed to be a physical freak like Omega. That's never been his strength and it's never been why people were fans of his. Even at his youngest and fastest Punk was never the most athletic wrestler.

If they could figure out a match that works to both of their real strengths (and not their imagined ones), it'd be a certain 5*/7* in the Tokyo Dome classic though. I'm 100% certain of that.

Anything official, I can't speak to, but I will say that constantly bringing it up (speaking generally, not singling anyone out) doesn't help matters.

I wouldn't think a general chat thread for some AEW fun would be a problem, but I do also think that it would do everyone and the board itself some good if that spirit found its way across multiple threads. No need to keep the fun isolated, you know?

The thread you describe…exists. It had everything; breaking news, insanity, actual civil discussion, memes, shit posts…light hearted fun. Early on (around…like…page 200-300…) shit started to veer and we managed to get the ship righted and get back to the fun.

Then the news started drying up and we had to stretch for some of the jokes…it was slowing down….it woulda popped again after the BTE ep..then really gone sideways (in a meme/shitpost way) after last week’s Dynamite…slowed down again then sparked again with this news.

But…no. That didn’t get to happen. And I don’t blame the mods for it. Not one bit. I get why y’all did what you did. Some bad faith actors showed up wrapped in blankets of “opinions” and it was locked before that phase would have died it’s natural death as it had a few hundred pages earlier.

Now ALL OF THAT said….
I’ve been posting here for, like, 15 years (YIKES!) and that month and change was the most fun I think I’ve ever had here. Would I like to see it back? Sure. Have I made references to/jokes about it? Oh absolutely….but that’s 98% of my posts here; dumb jokes, shit posts and memes. It’s totally in character for me. Anyway, if it comes back? Awesome. If it doesn’t? So be it. It is what it is and what is dead May never die.

Now….as for the original topic?

Naw. I’m good. As one of the (at one time) most pro-Punk people around I’m over it. Thanks for coming, Phil. Take your muffins and shuffle off to whatever this next mysterious project is. I, for one, am quite good never seeing you within 100 yards of an AEW ring again.

Punk was a draw for AEW so if there is any conceivable way to bring him back and just keep him and the Elite away from each other, then from a business standpoint it would be the best way to go. Not sure Punk or the Elite would be down for that though, especially Punk who holds grudges worse than anyone in the business (or he’s at least in the top 5).

I understand some things happen organically, but what's stopping you? This is what I don't understand.
