No conversation in pro wrestling makes me roll my eyes harder than discussions about who could legitimately beat who. Who the f*** cares? Whether someone has never had a legit fight in their life or has won 1,000 makes no difference - they all make a living out of pro wrestling. Punk's at like that exact age where he came to WWE with a lot of people around him still trying to be backstage tough guys. He trained MMA to try to become a tough guy. Then came back to wrestling just in time for the business to abandon the tough guy ethos and embrace its geekiness and now he looks old and out-of-touch. It would be almost tragic if he wasn't such an exhausting dickbag. Great post. |

I'm starting to think getting his ass handed to him twice in UFC and both times in humiliating fashion, instead of humbling him a little and making him chill out has actually given him an even bigger chip on his shoulder.
It feels like he gets violent very quickly now, almost as if to prove he's tough after the UFC shambles.
Just a theory but I dunno, the more I think about it the more it makes sense.

It's interesting that SRS has phrased that as "CM Punk's side" and "other accounts" instead of saying "Jack Perry's side." Punk's said also said Punk looked really cool and awesome and buff. He was a totally kick ass Also, during the brawl, Punk's trunks got pulled down, to where his junk was exposed. Dax That witness said, "his member was massive, totally, put mine to shame" |

The tone of the posts like "Punk doesn't have any problems beating up these loser nerds" is gross It reads like tennis racket man enthusiasts who won't shut up about 'the bucks are just mad cm punk beat them up'. like..maybe nobody should be legit beating up anybody? this is not 80s crockett or bill watts here. God I remember a story about a fight breaking out in the Mid South locker room, Ernie Ladd trying to stop it and later sorry ass Grizzly Smith tells Ladd, Watts would've fired him if he was there because he tried to stop it. |

Punk is the most exhausting man in wrestling if not all of TV. The biggest show in company history and a lot of people are going to be focusing on his antics again rather than the wrestling.
Surely there has to be a breaking point soon, right? It's been a year now of brawls, insider shooty comments, negative press, getting people kicked out of arenas, etc. This current set-up doesn't seem sustainable with him controlling who can and can't enter his arenas on Saturdays (including the head of talent relations!) then the awkwardness of the PPVs with him and his enemies having to be kept in separate parts of the building because everyone is afraid everything will blow up again.

Unfortunately I think my previous excitement for pre-Hogan TNA plays a factor into my apprehension of AEW considering how that ended up but man it's disheartening to see silly things take public awareness away from just how bad these guys are killing themselves in that ring.
Even as a guy who has been pretty critical of AEW since inception the fact that they broke the freakin attendance record and still people would rather talk about the drama with Punk on social (and not his match mind you) is insanely tiring even as a fan that watches it at times just to see what happens.
Like there was so much good tonight and I know it's a small bubble and vision of tonight's reach but I can't imagine being even more emotionally invested.
I do have more respect for alot of you here than you know and even as a Punk fan from IL before an AEW fan this is absurd.
