y'all have so much optimism, i can't see him getting let go or leaving at all I mean he himself seems to want to quit AEW off of the Jack Perry situation If he wants to quit over something that f***ing stupid he clearly doesn't even value the apparent power he'd been given and praise Warner had heaped on him As has been said, nothing will make him happy it feels like. If AEW doesn't just cut the dude he might just leave himself and save them the hassle...

The thing with Punk is that in a odd (albeit clearly selfish) sense, he's of the lost generation. He came along too late to be the kind of locker room authority in WWE he clearly wanted to be (ala an Undertaker) but came in far before the locker room hierarchy thing started to gradually disappear in a lot of companies.
He's the freshman who got to 11th/12th grade right as the hazing/bossing around of underclassmen was stamped out and it feels like he's still bitter that never got be the junior/senior that got to tell the younger kids what to do. He comes off like such a man out of time in that sense, engaging in behavior that he thinks probably would have gotten him praise a decade or two ago. That the likes of Sting and even Jericho don't do this sort of thing is irrelevant to the broader instinct he seems to have about what his position and status is supposed to be vs the reality.
Were this all kayfabe, he'd be a brilliant heel character, the 2005 babyface unaware that in 2023 he's a heel. Alas it is all quite real.

At this point, I hope someone just takes one for the team and slaps the shit out of this manchild and sends him home crying. It's looooooong overdue.

You know damn well at the second TK takes 1% of Punks powers he quits He can give that power to Danielson, seems obvious that TK will side with BD over Punk the moment he said Dragon would be his successor if TK cant get to book shows due to x reasons.
He honestly couldn’t have chosen a better successor than Danielson

Bragging about using real glass is so f***ing stupid. It's pointlessly dangerous and it just makes a mockery of the whole thing to begin with by going "look! THIS IS REAL!", idiot.

I think Punk said he was gonna quit in anger, I don’t think he’s actually gonna do it, he’s not gonna get a deal like this anywhere else lol

I don't think anyone is defending Perry's actions. But this is the CM Punk thread, of course the focus is going to be on Punk because the whole thread is about Punk. Yeah no one's defending Jack, he wanted to go through real glass, he's a bit of a brick head if he had to be talked down from that He tried to spin it into an off cuff moment on the PPV, and yes, maybe he shouldn't have, I think there's enough there to warrant a punishment But CM Punk is also a 45 year old man with skin like rice paper, he could have very easily just went up to Jack and been like "Hey that wasn't cool, maybe don't draw attention to stuff like that anymore" or y'know anything that reportedly didn't involve immediate hands on fightingThis dude really wants to be in a prominent position of power and "Wants no drama" but he really comes off like a dictator in the way he's used any of it, nothing ever bad about him, surrounded by the yessiest of yes men who, at this particular time, have nothing bad to say about him. He should have went the Elite route and just not acknowledge it and go on with his day.

Jungle Boy messed up but he's young and its the first time we've heard him having any issues. He has time to grow and learn. Punk is a man in his 40s who has a paper trail of decades worth of backstage drama. This dude doesn't learn, he doesn't grow and each time he's in a headline we know it will be bad. For Jack it's "fool me once." For Punk it's "alright you've tried to fool me 3727172 times, f*** outta here."
The previous time was in a Q&A that the Cornette Cult tried to cancel him lol
Consideirng the single-digit IQ people that listen to that shit called Cornette's podcast, I shudder to think what the Cornette Cult is saying about Jack Perry now.

He just wants to take a few months off so that, when ratings fall due to college football, he can convince TK that it's REALLY because of his absence. Then when he comes back again, TK will make *him* the undisputed AEW World Champion and shows will be filled with talk about how great and cool and respected he is as a man and a locker-room leader.
That's all.

Pete Select may have some sources, but can he keep up with his #1 rival who now has direct access to CM Punk's camp of dirt sheet friends?

Perry is just such an idiot to think doing what he did would help him in any way. There are plenty of young guys who Tony can/will push over him who won’t do something as dumb. The wrestlers who can get it away with it are the ones who move business. This is wrestling politics 101.

Punk was the one who made it public in the first place. Going over to Jack Perry to say don't use real glass, that's silly? Yeah that's sensible good leadership. Going over to tell Jack Parry to say don't use real glass, then leaking that story to dirt sheets in an attempt at damage control after you pissed everyone off by once again burying Hangman page to the crowd when you're not feuding with him and he isn't there to defend himself? That's pathetic from Punk.

Just this I think. What a day Saturday was. that is the one thing I have sympathy for punk on, London's public transport is confusing as hell if you're not a local. I didnt get lost when I went to London 11 years ago by getting the wrong bus and ended up on the other side of the city to where I was supposed to be and had to get the tube back to where I was supposed to be. honest.
