Punk is grown ass adult and with that "veteran" status dude should act like it and converse with Jack in a civilized manner. None of this confrontational attitude. Let Jack cool off and go and talk to him after your match like an adult and a "leader." Punk chose violence apparently. Not saying Jack shouldn't be suspended but that doesn't let Punk off the leash either. Damn you remember a year ago when CM Punk said some very public and very crazy shit about the Young Bucks and a bunch of other people on television, and when they went to go talk to him--at his open request--he f***ing decked one of them? And people said it was The Young Bucks' fault that they got punched because they went to a guy who just angrily unloaded a bunch of shit on them and they should have known better? Because I think it's interesting that with the roles reversed Punk was still the one who made things get physical. Not to say that the person who goes to do the talking is inherently the less bad or more bad guy in a situation, because obviously that's reductive and dumb. But it is interesting that we've got Punk on both sides of it getting defended for the wrong thing everyone else did to him that totally justifies him throwing hands in either direction. I remember it well. It was great Craic altogether.

We need a running tally of wrestlers in AEW who apparently have heat with Punk Omega Nick Jackson Matt Jackson Hangman Christopher Daniels Britt Baker Moxley Jericho Nick Nemeth Jack Perry Miro There were also rumours about MJF and Punk not really getting along either but I'm not as sure about that so I won't include MJF yet. Anyone else? It's already quite a list. Cabana goes without saying. Supposedly Matt Hardy, who he had heat with going back to WWE. I don’t suppose he and Jeff are on great terms either.

For god sake how could I forget Cabana! Yeah the Hardy Boyz too, the list is seemingly endless. Again I should make it clear, I'm not saying Perry is 100% innocent. He should have just not said anything to camera and just had his match with Hook as normal. But if two guys get in a fight at work and one guy is a young man who has never fought anyone at work before and never caused any trouble or drama, and the other guy is a man in his mid 40s who physically attacked someone last year and has a long long long history of getting in arguments and causing drama then yeah they both don't get the same reaction or level of scorn.

Jack Perry was a dumbass for saying that but he said shit that wasn't a tenth as bad as anything it's worth punching someone over. Like in my mind if you're doing any kind of justified violence it's against someone who is a present danger to you or your loved ones. "He said 'cry me a river'" is not grounds for assault. Perry should've been called into the boss's office and told "Hey don't do that" in the same ways Punk's comments should have provoked a call into the boss's office to be told "Hey don't do that". They just don't justify violence. There's nothing urgent enough to call for the kind of confrontation that went down and when almost every account is in agreement that Punk made it physical, that's a bigger problem on Punk's end.

the deja vu to the same thread and acting like we don’t remember is cracking me up we really are repeating history I can't wait for the Netflix Documentary on both of the threads. Both seasons could be ten episodes a piece. Yeah I am going to have to have some talks with the director regarding my role in being the antagonist in part 1 and the ending there

At this point, I would hope that a) nobody else in the locker room works with Punk or even gives him the time of day, and b) those who do so immediately find themselves isolated from the rest of the locker room as well. When Collision becomes the "CM Punk sits in the middle of the ring and complains about everything" show, perhaps WBD will give TK a talk about ratings.
The bigger issue, though, is higher up and more widespread. Were I in charge of creative, I'd be putting kiboshes on all the social-media angling and demanding all approval for promos go through creative. That way, those getting stick from Punk can simply be instructed to ignore him and Punk can be rightly given the stick for his shit-disturbing. Besides, I seem to recall a few figures in AEW who a) have at least a decade or more's experience on Punk and b) would have no qualms correcting his ass if he ceases to be worth the hassle.

I don't think anyone is defending Perry's actions. But this is the CM Punk thread, of course the focus is going to be on Punk because the whole thread is about Punk. Yeah no one's defending Jack, he wanted to go through real glass, he's a bit of a brick head if he had to be talked down from that He tried to spin it into an off cuff moment on the PPV, and yes, maybe he shouldn't have, I think there's enough there to warrant a punishment But CM Punk is also a 45 year old man with skin like rice paper, he could have very easily just went up to Jack and been like "Hey that wasn't cool, maybe don't draw attention to stuff like that anymore" or y'know anything that reportedly didn't involve immediate hands on fighting This dude really wants to be in a prominent position of power and "Wants no drama" but he really comes off like a dictator in the way he's used any of it, nothing ever bad about him, surrounded by the yessiest of yes men who, at this particular time, have nothing bad to say about him.

Needs to be a ceremony next time they’re in Knoxville (the only place that would allow such a ceremony to take place thanks to their weirdo Mayor) where Paul Wight bestows Punk with all the official Local Man accoutrements. Like, there’s a sash and a crown and everything. Then he shows him how to run-in on literally every main event match and ruin battle royals.

Also, Punk being able to say anything he wants and get no punishment for it is part of the problem that lets a guy like Jack do his dumbass comment thinking he'll get away with it. Which isn't me blaming Punk or saying if Punk does it it's fine, but blaming Tony for letting people just do this stuff, because this is the boiling point shit reaches. "Stop antagonizing co-workers on my show" is a very basic putting down of his foot that Tony will not do and that's how we reach this point. Ugly truth is, this probably isn't even a story we're still talking about if Punk doesn't put his hands on Perry because nothing would've come from the comment alone. And that's a problem just for how AEW is run and how Tony's wrestlers behave.

There's 55 minutes left to this Monday here. Let's make it two back to back greatest wrestling days ever by Punk's bitchass taking his ball and going home for good. Please?

I'm firmly of the opinion that Punk on his best day isn't worth the trouble he's brought to AEW so I would cut ties. However, if Khan doesn't cut ties with Punk, he has to at least take any power away from him. Punk shouldn't be in a position of power over others at all. If someone wants to ask Punk for advice then sure, let them. The same way they could ask anyone in the locker room. But he shouldn't be in the position of giving advice or instruction to anyone else. He just doesn't seem to have the aptitude for it and a lot of people don't. They usually realize that though and don't try, unlike Punk. You know damn well at the second TK takes 1% of Punks powers he quits
He can give that power to Danielson, seems obvious that TK will side with BD over Punk the moment he said Dragon would be his successor if TK cant get to book shows due to x reasons.

All this drama for someone who isn't even the massive draw he thinks he is. Collision is not getting the ratings WarnerMedia expected from Punk and they are only going to get worse when College football starts. Its time to get rid and move on, and if Punk is so desperate to still wrestle, let Impact deal with his bullshit and his weird cult fanbase.
I would move the Brochachos Saga, Eddie to Collision to help the show, also continue featuring BCG, Ricky, continue rebuilding Keith Lee.
Impact would be his best choice and also DAmore knows how to tame egomaniacs(Bully Ray)

Jungle Boy messed up but he's young and its the first time we've heard him having any issues. He has time to grow and learn. Punk is a man in his 40s who has a paper trail of decades worth of backstage drama. This dude doesn't learn, he doesn't grow and each time he's in a headline we know it will be bad. For Jack it's "fool me once." For Punk it's "alright you've tried to fool me 3727172 times, f*** outta here."
The previous time was in a Q&A that the Cornette Cult tried to cancel him lol
