Cultaholic quoted a saying (I really wish I could credit the source) which I think is quite apt. "If you meet an asshole in the morning, then you met an asshole. If you meet assholes all day then maybe you are the asshole?" Pretty sure I read someone say that in here about two pages ago.

Seriously though (yes I know, who agreed to that?) I feel sorry for Phil Brooks in a way. It can't be fun being so angry all the time, holding grudges and looking for slights everywhere you go. AEW and pro wrestling in general can't be a healthy environment for him.

AEW and pro wrestling in general can't be a healthy environment for him. Again, I don't know the guy personally, I can't really say one way or another in a serious manner, but the way he acts, the way he holds onto stuff and the way he will absolutely run a grudge into the ground, makes it so impressive to me that not only has he been with AJ for a decade, but they're married. Maybe it's because Phil Brooks outside of the wrestling drama is a very different person, and that is entirely possible like you said about this environment bringing out the worst in him, but like... at this point I can see AJ bringing home the wrong kind of milk from a store, and Punk bringing it up seven years later lmfao

It is funny seeing the same people who have always hated Punk now flip and say things shouldn’t be leaked to the dirt sheets. Where were y’all last year?
Punk is a hypocrite for doing it himself this time

Brawls with Jungle Jack aside, Punk has every right to be pissed about his travel being f***ed up (and the travel coordinator taking the piss on twitter).

Who's the travel coordinator / what's their tweet? Travel coordinator had pictures of him with the Bucks, has been liking anti-Punk tweets for awhile now. And in BTE you can see the Bucks were picked up in a stretch limo from the airport. Just a coincidence, of course.

I’m just going to pop in here for the first time since All In ended to just say my piece and get out;
At this point, you couldn’t pay me to care about any of this nonsense.
“Oh no, Jack talked about glass during the match” Oh, the thing I couldn’t hear nor could most of the audience besides the people paying for the expensive seats? Cool.
“Oh no, Punk and Jack fought backstage and were sent away from the arena” Cool. I was too busy watching to care.
“Oh no, Punk didn’t get picked up from the airport and had no other way of travelling from Heathrow Airport!” …get an Uber and force TK to reimburse? Take the Underground to Wembley Park and get TK to reimburse? What are we doing?
It’s all so boring, people trying to compare it to Brawl Out last year are boring, people trying to make this a bigger deal than it is are boring and thinking it’s overshadowing the success of All In when nobody cares about it in the first place boggles my mind.
I’m just tired, man. Mostly from the travel but also from people here and in the media trying to make me care about dumb lockeroom bullshit that the only difference between this and WWE’s is that nobody’s leaking out WWE’s 99% of the time (Charlotte’s stuff a couple of years ago and the Finn/Seth stuff from about a month ago not withstanding). I used to be a guy that was attracted to this stuff but man, it ain’t my money and these people don’t work for me. 🤷🏻♂️

And all of this is f***ing, magically, amazingly, somehow, because of that Hangman comment! It's still all domino effect shit from the Hangman comment! If Punk doesn't make that comment, we don't hear the report that Hangman was pushed out of the venue, which means we don't hear about the other people actually pushed out of the venue, which means Punk doesn't try to make himself look like a good leader with the Perry story, which means we don't have the All In situation. Everything keeps happening because Punk is still tryng to save face after an off-show comment about f***ing toy sales. None of this chain reaction goes down if he just didn't get mad about the Hangman signs. If it wasn’t so entertaining to watch unfold in real-time, I’d almost feel sorry for Punk on the off-chance that he’ll run out of people to blame and wake up one morning in a cold sweat as years of repressed introspection washes over him. He will. Not to roll in all armchair psychologist here, but I've got a lot in common with Punk and always have. He's the only person I know of besides me who couldn't hold a job growing up because he was unable to fit in or avoid drama, and ended up defaulting to being a weird outsider to form a sphere of friends that largely revolved around him, occasionally kicking someone out for some sort of "betrayal", often real, sometimes perceived, and nearly always an overreaction on my part. Punk's behavior continues to be the mirror image of mine...that I grew out of in my early 30's (almost the same age as him). He didn't. I know how this behavior goes and how damn lonely it actually gets, no matter how right you think you are all the time. Also weirdly enough, the person I attracted enough to be with long-term (7 years) was a girl who had a lot in common with AJ Lee (having read her book). My GF struggled with body image and bouts of bipolar disorder, either ultra-manic or absolutely unable to function. One of the most fun people you've ever met, then the next day a total bump on a log. Didn't ask much except that you accepted her and knew how to give her space when it wasn't good. And worst of all, suicidal tendencies that came and went. How does a couple like that work, you ask? It's kind of hard to believe, but it does. Two people who feel like they don't fit in, and create that self-fulfilling prophecy, can do a lot to accept and insulate each other. All of that said, he will absolutely "run out of people to blame eventually and wake up one morning in a cold sweat as years of repressed introspection wash over him". It'll hit him like a ton of bricks too. I know from experience. If you watch his All In entrance back, knowing what happened before that, you'll see an absolutely sad individual walking out. What I mistook as "awe at the scale of this event" at first viewing, was actually a borderline look of absolute defeat. I think he liked Jack Perry, had wanted to work with him for a while as one of the young guys with fire and potential, and saw himself as the respected mentor. All of that got torched right before he walked out. His face said "Another one". You can only turn so many friends into enemies before it just hurts. It's adding up and this one stung for one reason or another. It got to him. After years of being around smaller circles of people who like and accept him, he's back in a large pool of peers and fans now. Which means he's beginning to face the reality that his view of himself might not actually line up with reality after all. He's struggling more than he lets on, still has issues fitting in after all of these years, and only thrives in leadership positions. When it comes to relationships with co-workers, people like him have to be self-employed, or run the place, or bust. So he's lucky enough to be in a leadership position now and can't even seem to make that work. Regardless of your opinions on him, and I think we all take a dim view of the guy sometimes, it wouldn't hurt to keep some sympathy in the back of your mind for him.

And in BTE you can see the Bucks were picked up in a stretch limo from the airport. Just a coincidence, of course. The Bucks were in a black cab, not a limo. They have forward and backward facing seats in the back. The Bucks were also on the same plane as the majority of the roster, unlike Punk who came over separately on a different day to everyone else. The Bucks didn't get preferential treatment there, they got the same as everyone else did. Punk's travel getting messed up was a huge screw up and I hope whoever was responsible gets appropriately dealt with for not doing their job correctly.

I think that the biggest winner in all this may be one Adam Copeland.
I believe it's end of September that he's a Free Agent.
If AEW cut bait with Punk, Copeland turning up will create better buzz and less headaches

I’ve said before-when you have Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, and Jericho on your payroll you should not have these kids if problems with booking, talent relations, backstage discipline, etc. encouraging physical violence might seem like a passé, carny thing to do but in the situations we’ve seen it wouldn’t be all that inappropriate to say “Go outside and settle this NOW, or learn to live with each other because this doesn’t do anyone any good. Or you don’t have to work here.”

How many of you have never been in a physical altercation at work, school, or in a locker room? Willing to put that number at 95% One time when I was 12 this dude was bullying me at school so I tried to Ric Flair chop him and he got really weirded out and stopped bothering me after, does that count

Just make Joe the locker room leader.
He probably is one, just not in an official category. Punk's the "leader" but is he the one that guys go to for advice? Also Joe doesn't go around saying "I'm a leader", like Punk wanting to be a leader. If you're an actual leader, you don't have to remind people that you're the leader.
