Just make Joe the locker room leader.
He probably is one, just not in an official category. Punk's the "leader" but is he the one that guys go to for advice? Also Joe doesn't go around saying "I'm a leader", like Punk wanting to be a leader. If you're an actual leader, you don't have to remind people that you're the leader. I don't believe for a second that Joe is a leader. Joe isn't beating people up for disagreements! That's a real leader there

Cultaholic quoted a saying (I really wish I could credit the source) which I think is quite apt. "If you meet an asshole in the morning, then you met an asshole. If you meet assholes all day then maybe you are the asshole?" Pretty sure I read someone say that in here about two pages ago. I said it here and in the original scrum thread... Can't take credit for it because it's an old saying that's been used in various ways forever.

How many of you have never been in a physical altercation at work, school, or in a locker room? Willing to put that number at 95% As a child? Sure. But as a grown ass man past say, high school age? Nah. Let's not pretend that this kind of thing is completely normal or acceptable.

If Collision was doing big, big numbers then I’d say he’s worth the hassle. At this point he’s doing damage to the locker room, Khan’s reputation and bringing AEW’s business down as a whole (that entire PPV is pretty much an afterthought now because of this B.S).

I’m just going to pop in here for the first time since All In ended to just say my piece and get out; At this point, you couldn’t pay me to care about any of this nonsense. “Oh no, Jack talked about glass during the match” Oh, the thing I couldn’t hear nor could most of the audience besides the people paying for the expensive seats? Cool. “Oh no, Punk and Jack fought backstage and were sent away from the arena” Cool. I was too busy watching to care. “Oh no, Punk didn’t get picked up from the airport and had no other way of travelling from Heathrow Airport!” …get an Uber and force TK to reimburse? Take the Underground to Wembley Park and get TK to reimburse? What are we doing? It’s all so boring, people trying to compare it to Brawl Out last year are boring, people trying to make this a bigger deal than it is are boring and thinking it’s overshadowing the success of All In when nobody cares about it in the first place boggles my mind. I’m just tired, man. Mostly from the travel but also from people here and in the media trying to make me care about dumb lockeroom bullshit that the only difference between this and WWE’s is that nobody’s leaking out WWE’s 99% of the time (Charlotte’s stuff a couple of years ago and the Finn/Seth stuff from about a month ago not withstanding). I used to be a guy that was attracted to this stuff but man, it ain’t my money and these people don’t work for me. 🤷🏻♂️ I mean maybe you don’t care about it, but pretty clearly a lot of people do care a lot about it. I understand AEW had a big show, but the problem is this has overshadowed it and it’s why Punk should probably be let go.

Like, it doesn't even feel like real life that something like this has already happened again. Punk is like a caricature of a human being to me, which makes him very appealing to talk about on the internet. I do 100% agree it's beyond time to let him go, though. It's a damn travesty that AEW just put on a critically acclaimed show in front of 80,000+ people less than 5 years into its existence, and the lion's share of the conversation is about CM Punk's travel accommodations and whether a pieface counts as throwing the first punch. He's exhausting, and a net detriment to the company. Collision isn't even performing particularly well, either.

If you want to be a locker room leader, you have to deal with people you don't like and people that don't like you. You can't just ban them from the locker room. You also have to deal with people that vehemently disagree with you (rightly or wrongly) and you can't go to the dirt sheets or throw hands over it.
Punk isn't a locker room leader, no matter how much he wants to be one. He is instead a great source of knowledge and help for a specific group of people and he really should have stuck with that.

I've survived enough wrestling threads on Reddit to more or less conclude that CM Punk just isn't worth the bandwidth, literally or metaphorically.
Obviously, I don't know the guy, so feel free to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about because I'm honestly just using my own experiences to make a judgment about a stranger same as anyone else does when it comes to wrestlers. Anyway, you ever met someone who is just SO toxic that there's just a miasma of negativity that hovers around them even when they're more or less doing nothing?
That's how I view CM Punk. Dude seems like he is the common denominator in a lot of 'rasslin bullshit that's come out of AEW since his arrival, and honestly just seems like a miserable human being who needs therapy because he's downright allergic to happiness, and thinks that toxic work environment = competitive.
To an extent, I even get why Tony Khan placates him. For NFL fans out there, how many times did Terrell Owens get a pass because someone thought his output was worth his bullshit? In Punk's case, I don't know how much longer that's gonna last given that Collision's ratings are not what anyone wanted them, but only time will tell.
I will say this, though... in a week that's had some real, true tragedy, like the loss of Bray Wyatt, the Phil Brook's drama hour just seems comical in comparison, and just further proves why I don't give him much attention or thought, because if he's pissing you off, you're just feeding him. Best to ignore him, because that's how you deal with ANY wrestler that bothers you that much.

I mean, can the travel coordinator not be put here liking shady tweets though?! Use your head, man Man, if I was the travel coordinator, I'd be liking shady tweets, complaining loudly to whatever HR may exist in AEW, and everything in between. Punk's new MO is even worse than his old MO: - Do or say some stupid shit that causes him to be portrayed negatively in the wrestling media.
- Leak a version of the story to the wrestling media that is spun in a way that he believes portrays him in a positive light.
- The general public reaction to even "Punk's side" of events is still negative.
- Release a completely unrelated story, dragging someone wholly involved with the original situation through the mud, in an effort to portray himself as a "good guy" or an "innocent victim."
Like that's what was the catalyst to the Jack Perry situation in the first place. He was backpedaling from the Hangman peg warmer backlash, so he leaked a "look, I'm a locker room leader" story to the wrestling media for no reason, which needlessly portrayed Jack in a negative light 3 weeks after the fact. It was probably immature of Jack to take the jab on screen, but I understand why he did to a certain extent and, now, here we are, with the majority of people finding Punk at fault in the situation, leading to him backpedaling and randomly throwing the travel coordinator under the bus to try and garner sympathy. It's like the most toxic cycle I've ever seen.

just thought about how hostile that crowd is going to be sunday regardless of if he makes it to the show or not lol The PPV card is so empty right now that I say f*** it, go wild. I wanna see the Young Bucks gets booked against some local jobbers dressed as the Blues Brothers. I want it to be the kind of shithead sneering victory lap that makes the Chicago best of 7 trios match look like it was performed by Zen Buddhist monks. I want a Colt Cabana run-in during every match. I want an extended segment where Adam Page sits in a chair and positively rates the most normie pop punk bands in the world and ends on the decisive note that Avril Lavigne is actually more influential than Lars from Rancid on the legacy of punk rock. Put on a show so isnane Ace Steel tries to bite the arena itself.
Hangman Buckshots CP Munk to send the crowd home

At this stage the last thing Phil has is his ring work. His stories since return have been insane messes and he's frankly f***ing washed on the mic too - all the conviction in the world doesn't matter when your material is that bad and delivered that awkwardly.
In ring? He was clearly worse than Joe at Wembley. I thought it was great to see him have a match, but nothing would be lost if he didn't have any more.

Also Joe doesn't go around saying "I'm a leader", like Punk wanting to be a leader. If you're an actual leader, you don't have to remind people that you're the leader. Joe seems like he'd be a far less toxic version of the Undertaker as a locker room leader, and I mean that as a compliment. Joe just seems like he's respected by everyone, and while I'm sure he can knock your teeth down your throat, that's a last option sort of thing.
God, wrestling is silly when THAT'S the bar
