Excalibur: CM PUNK IS HERE TO ADDRESS THE AEW FANS AFTER HIS RETURN FROM INJURY CM Punk: ADAM PAGE YOU TRASH MOTHERf***ER I love that this is how we got here. Everyone: It's a storyline. He cut a promo. It's part of the story, come on. It's got to be part of the show. [freeze frame] Narrator: It was not, in fact, a storyline.

I still feel like punk won’t end up being the big boss in all of this
someone in that locker room is gonna see the leeway he got and be like oh yeah? that’s cool, time to punt a dachshund on national television or some shit
688 ain’t shit this might be going on for years

i forget you cant say anything bad about the elite ever. they never ever ever ever spoke to meltzer ever in there lifes said anything or mocked punk in the ring i imagined that too. Of course they've spoken to Meltzer, probably many many times. There are pictures of them hanging out with him in people's signatures here. They just didn't give the Cabana leak to all of these journalists. Why is this so difficult to accept?

And Punk banishing Colt to RoH has become a lot more credible over the past two months with Ace Steel being brought back and multiple people being sent home from Collision at the behest of Lake Views finest.

Hopefully, if Adam Copeland does decide to sign that balances out the merch side of things that Punk some how manages to shift for his dofus followers and Tony can just cut ties with CM Punk once and for all.
Every time there is an incident this guy shows up, and to be honest Phil, I watched your match live at All In and it was MID.

MID pretty much sums up Punk for the past two months except for his capacity for backstage drama.

Shouldn't even take that, should just be the final nail in the coffin given this is now the second time he's had to be suspended, ironically both around the exact same time of year I would contest that Punk's been fine to good in ring since he's come back but obviously that is being largely outweighed by the everything else that this is. He brings in merch but he isn't bringing in the numbers for Collision like they probably thought he would, they're running out of ways to justify keeping him here let alone letting him have any leeway.

Does punk have an actual titled position within AEW management? Seems odd he can change booking decisions for other members of the roster if not.

Nobody had to leak a damn thing about Colt, because fans were wondering what was gonna happen with Colt when Punk came in, and then noticed a lack of Colt after Punk came in. I think what seriously happened in that whole thing is: -Fans and wrestlers were speculating that Punk was responsible for Cabana being held back. -Reporters talked to aforementioned wrestlers, then reported that there was "a belief within AEW" that Punk had was responsible for Cabana being held back. -Punk assumed that this "information" had been leaked by someone specifically to hurt him, and mulled over who it might have been, eventually coming to the conclusion that it was the Young Bucks due to their well-publicized relationship with Meltzer and WON in particular. -Punk made the accusation that it was them and they have a problem with him. Stuff happens, there's a fight. -Journalists say that no, they didn't get this particular information from the Bucks. Because they'd gotten it from a bunch of random people, it being speculation and all. -Punk's devotees decide there's a vast conspiracy and the journalists are in on it. At the end of the day it's possible there wasn't even any malicious leaker at all, but rather a lot of idle speculation.

If I recall correctly, the original Brawl Out thread was closed because the conversation was just going in circles and there had been nothing developing on the topic.
Theoretically, if Punktroversy can sustain itself, this thread shouldbe safe from mod intervention.

I know it's going over very old ground, but the Colt stuff is mystifying to me. Whatever was said was quite obviously true, so what's the big deal?
Dude is getting the talent relations guy booted out of shows and offering people out for fights left and right, but he'd have been content to see Colt Cabana every week?
Punk at the time was portraying himself as the happy go lucky elder veteran, here to help everyone and buy them Starbucks. It absolutely deserved to be put out there that that wasn't the full story.

Punk's you want to step outside tendencies now have me constantly thinking of him as Randy Marsh taking off his shirt and challenging people to fights.
(Or if he's shirtless, putting a shirt on and then taking it off).

It says something about how little presence and significance Tyrus has that I just now realized that he and EC3 had a history from their alliance in Impact Wrestling. The man's so unmemorable outside his lousy wrestling ability and controversies that I couldn't even recall anything else. At least it's memorable enough to be mentioned in the "Misadventures Of CM Punk, Locker Room Leader Guy" topic.

Well, if there’s one thing in Punk’s favour at this point, at least he ain’t Tyrus.

Not gonna lie, I'd say I can see this all ending with Punk getting a pundit spot on a local Fox affiliate but Punk has a history of supporting all the right causes, at least. Mind you, it make his capacity to alienate people all that more baffling/impressive.

Well, if there’s one thing in Punk’s favour at this point, at least he ain’t Tyrus. Punk's one ray of light is that he is outwardly supportive of trans rights and LGBTQ causes I just wish as someone who seems to try and outwardly be wanting to champion those causes, he wasn't being such a headache he might lose his job entirely... every nice thing the guy seems to do, eight bad or dumb things follow him.
