If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole If I had a drink for every time this quote was said during the two scrum threads, I would probably be drunk enough to do all the wild shit Punk has done the last 13 months

One thing I've noticed this time around is that apart from the crazy die-hard Punk fans, there's a lot less sympathy for him. Even some of the more reasonable Punk fans who thought he was worth bringing back seem to think that now, he's more trouble than he's worth. All of the wrestling meme groups I'm in have just been clowning on Punk 24/7 since this story broke. If nothing else, Punk is great for meme material. I think part of that is this hilarious dichotomy where the Punk side is trying to portray him as just wanting to work without drama, and meanwhile he’s got a whole list of people who can’t be around him to ensure there’s no drama. And then there’s still drama.

SRS just said Punk was going to main event All Out Yeah, not shocking. I'm guessing it was gonna be Starks/Punk.

SRS just said Punk was going to main event All Out This dude is out here breaking scoops on his birthday. The way things have gone, I'm expecting a Nick Hausman "I'm being told this isn't true" tweet shortly.

SRS just said Punk was going to main event All Out Instead dudes working on being all out. I’ve been racking my brain what they do instead. Specially with this quick turn around. Cole rematch, I guess.

Yeah, but the t-shirt sales............ I would understand the argument if he was the Hogan/Austin/Cena level draw that he and a sizable amount of people think he is but he clearly isn't. He stopped popping ratings after the MJF feud which was the only actual argument that made sense, doesn't do shit for buyrates, and AEW doesn't give a shit about t-shirt sales judging from how they contract out merch to PWT. Yeah, it's almost like there's no reason to keep him around and he's not worth the hassle.

Cole rematch, I guess. I may well be the one person who is going to be in attendance at that show who is hoping for this, but I'd kind of like to see MJF/Roddy. Maybe not as the outright main event (seems like Kenny/Takeshita is a big enough match for that, especially on a PPV that no one is going to buy), but at least the semi-main. I would even be alright with Better Than You Bay Bay v. The Kingdom for the ROH tag belts.

The funniest thing is that Punk leaked that he wasn't picked up at the airport, and how bad that was...when no-one was picked up at the airport. Dude kicking off, and getting lost on the tube, when everyone else just got a cab.

Which is nonsense because HE'S THE ACTUAL CHAMP but that's the only somewhat logical endgame here That's one of the wildest aspects of all the news that has broken over the last 4 days, to me. If MJF truly wasn't willing to work with Punk, and he was just doing the "real world champion" stuff on his own accord then there was absolutely no logical endgame to it. If this does end up being it for Punk (or he ends up taking a long hiatus before showing up again and playing nice for two months before melting down), then I think "CM Punk - real world champion" is one of the worst professional wrestling angles ever.

Waking up to only five more pages of thread is the most relieving thing in the world, because it implies there haven't been any new developments and it's probably going to be sane.

Really I think a significant part of why Punk has been so much worse in AEW than he ever was in WWE is due to seeing the company as beneath him. It's abundantly clear he thought he was gracing a C-level company with his presence and was going to instantly walk in the door and elevate the place by himself, and he's lashing out pissed off that there are people in the company who are big deals besides him.

SRS said Bucks and Punk brushed past each other backstage at All In, apparently people were on the edge of their seats for it, seemingly it went fine.
This was before the show and Punk/Perry incident.

Especially if there was no heel turn planned. The dude had to be stripped of the title twice in 3 months due to injuries, never had a successful title defense, but he's the "Real World Champ" and everyone's cool with it being semi-official? And he already got pinned so it isn't like he's undefeated.

I rarely watch WWE anymore and have yet to see a single AEW match. That said, I've been coming into the AEW section a lot more these last couple weeks just to read about the latest drama. The WWE section is so boring.

The WWE section is so boring. It feels like a collective trauma therapy where we all learn to cope by roasting every new tidbit that comes out about CM Punk in AEW.
