The lunge detail is from one single account of what happened and the article has a bunch, apparently. I wouldn’t necessarily take that piece of info as gospel. If Punk literally lunged after his boss, I feel like we would have heard that part before Friday morning. I’ll spell it out just in case someone wants to label me a “Punk Stan” again - dude is clearly more trouble than he’s worth, but I also think the Observer’s had details wrong lately. That's fair, but also do we have a problem here? *lunges*

Both of them should be suspended for 30 days. The offenses are not equal. 14 days for Jack, 90 for Phil would be more appropriate, if Tony still doesn't have the balls to send him packing.

Both of them should be suspended for 30 days. I think we’re passed that point now. If the outcome of this investigation is not the termination of Punk’s contract then Tony really has no spine. Tony firing Punk would be a huge mistake!

This would be a really good topic to be its own thread. "What was the moment you stopped liking Punk?" The Miz tweet is particularly un-sung at this point, and probably turned a ton of people off. I think that might be the point where I realized the guy was...iffy. But I was also very much against WWE doing business with the Saudi regime, so I gave the tweet a pass. WWE’s Saudi sportswashing grossness aside, I think what made me greatly dislike that one was how Punk just seems to hate the Miz because he was more of a ‘superstar’ in WWE. Like he’s holding a grudge from WM 2011 or something. It just seems incredibly bitter and immature. And, might be more of a dig here, the act that he told The Miz to do could be seen as homophobic. Wouldn’t be the first time: e.g., calling some guy a slur and saying he has a vagina for le epic heel heetz at a house show… sure it was 2011 but I feel like it should have already pretty much understood how that shit wasn’t cool, especially for a big company like WWE. And Miz was the only one he went after for the Saudi shows. He didn't say shit to Renee or any of the guests on Backstage that were on the Saudi shows. Also Miz wasn't even on the previous Saudi show.

Jack was looking to get heel heat by making an inside reference that went after someone he's not feuding with who's hated by a good portion of the fan base?

You’re kidding right? They’ve just had their biggest show of all time that was almost universally well received but nobody has talked about it because everyone is focused on the backstage drama that involves CM Punk. And this isn’t exactly the first time backstage drama involving Punk has been the main focus of everyone’s attention rather than the actual product. Even if he was a Hogan level draw (spoiler alert: he isn’t), he still wouldn’t be worth keeping around because what he brings you as a draw he always overshadows anyway with bullshit involving him. From a pure risk/reward perspective he has proven beyond all doubt that the reward of having him around does not come close to the risk of having him around. Just get rid of the guy before he does more harm.

The lunge is likely an exaggeration , probably just means Punk angrily rushed towards Khan

Tony Khan just wanted to have a wrestling company... Exactly. I will not agree with the “TK is a bitch” sentiment…yet. AEW is NOT the NFL. And what I mean by that is if there’s a problem behind the scenes the NFL is so goddamn powerful it can close ranks and rev up the machine to the point that the Meltzers and Sapps of the NFL reporting field are ultimately drowned out to the point that outside of pockets of shitposters online things just kinda fall from the collective consciousness. Hell, Tony’s seen that first hand with the whole Urban Myer thing. Which is oddly reminiscent of current events. Hopefully that makes sense…I’ve only had one cup of coffee so far and the morning brain haze is still there 🤷🏼♂️

When I saw this one earlier I was like UGHGHGHGHGH plz stop vanity searchingggg I said this earlier but why are people acting like Danhausen has been spamming everyone with Punk stuff when he’s posted some random gifs maybe 3-4 times and not really said anything else? Am I missing something? He’s been posting stuff pro-Punk and responding to random Twitter users comments about Punk for months now, not just the 3-4 times he did it this week.

“You know I could f*** you up at any time, right?” Is insane on two levels - A.) it’s coming from Punk. So it’s kind of hilarious in Itself. But B.) it’s such a pompous, dick move. This dude came back to wrestling just to show his whole ass.

I think we’re passed that point now. If the outcome of this investigation is not the termination of Punk’s contract then Tony really has no spine. Tony firing Punk would be a huge mistake! not really, punk currently brings nothing but un-necessary drama. he's overshadowed two big ppv events now with fights with co-workers. taken multiple petty & snide shots at everything that moves on instagram. went on a mini backstage tour of rival companies while under contract to a.e.w. banned several people including the head of talent relations from the show he was given as his show in an effort to appease him, he's either personally leaked or had others leak his side of the story on multiple incidents in an effort to make himself look better after making multiple accusations about others leaking stuff to dirtsheets. multiple main event level stars want nothing to do with him on a professional level. he's antagonised people in the company into taking pot shots at him by taking pot shots at them either online, leaking things to dirtsheets or in post show live mic segments. the last 12-16 months has been nothing but "c.m. punk * insert news here *" over aew news, a.e.w. has just had possibly the biggest show they will ever do and punk's bullshit has overshadowed it. he's no longer worth the hassle of keeping employed in the company as he's only going to cause bigger and bigger issues.

To think, all this could've been avoided if Hangman hadn't selfishly gone into business for himself... /sarcasm "If The Elite wanted to do business, they'd put their differences aside and work with Punk and money... However, the egos of the EVPs and Hangman Page, who thinks he knows everything and is too good to take advice, are getting in the way. They should be more mature and learn to do business and make money."
