Holy shit, Ace Steel bit a guy? Never would’ve happened if Omega didn’t have tasty forearms (allegedly).

As I noted at the time, its kind of a remarkable that a night that had both a dog and muffins as major talking points, the biting incident had nothing to do with either.

Punk stans right now:
“The Elite are too stupid and ignorant to even manage a Wendy’s.”
Also Punk stans right now:
“The Elite just executed one of the most elaborate schemes in the history of the world to run Punk out of the company and ruin his legacy.”
Like, this shit is embarrassing.

Even taking into account that you don't need to be a genius to be vicious and/or petty, it still doesn't make any sense.

Well, at least they didn't fire him during his wedding day. Although I'm sure he'll find something. "They fired me on Larry's birthday!" With how he's acted afterwards I am beginning to even question the validity of that statement... like did it actually come on his wedding day? or was it like the day before/day after... or did like his wedding day happen to coincide with the day his contract expired...

I can't believe we have to go Zapruder a BTE video, but here we are. The bottle was not a Pepsi bottle. It clearly has a label that is consistent with water bottles. It even has the recycle logo that is on many water bottles. And the liquid was not Pepsi; it was just water mixed with electrolytes. You can tell because Kenny said "What did I put in this?" when he started to chug it. And there's no way you can chug soda like that without bubbles started to form, and there were no bubbles forming. So yeah, Punk stans and the wrestling media at large have completely shown their whole ass by saying Kenny was burying Pepsi as a slight at Punk, and that didn't happen at all.

I mean, I get what Mark is trying to say, in regards to the whole, "well now everything will be perfect." I don't think there are that many people who think that AEW will be a love-in now that Punk is gone, but definitely, a lot of the drama has been curbed. Will there be spats from time to time? Certainly. Will it always be sunshine and rainbows and unicorn pee? Hell no. But will it be a much more relaxed environment than the last two years? Hell yes, and that's what matters long term. And if Tony takes a hardline against toxic influences, you won't have another CM Punk rise up backstage. Tony firing Punk should send a clear message to everyone in the back. Even if Tony is a big fan of yours, if you're being that detrimental to the company, he'll let you go. Nobody's untouchable.

Holy shit, Ace Steel bit a guy? Yeah see Kenny had been eating some barbecues ribs and a bunch of sauce got on his forearms and Ace Steel was so hungry from Punk not sharing some muffins with him that he lost all control of himself.

So interestingly a peek back earlier in the thread shows someone posting the Regal rumour and it being met without a ton of response maybe just because it sounded so outlandish and was so poorly sourced that I think most people just brushed it off. But now we're here and it's f***ing unreal. Just so much. So crazy. But here we are. It's real. It's embarrassing. It just sounds outrageous and fake, like some cartoonish shitpost made in here to make fun of Punk. But the story has legs. It shows that Punk has serious issues he needs to get help with. Holding grudges for long periods of time and constantly being bitter about it is not good for your health. If you let it, it'll ruin your life. I was like that in the past due to the hardships I endured in my younger days, and I can tell you from experience just how bloody miserable it makes you. Regardless of whether you want to mend bridges or not, you eventually have to learn to move on. You need to for your own sanity, or else you'll spend your life dwelling on the negatives.

He isn't just able to do good moves in a vacuum. His expressions are big, they're theatrical, they engross the audience in what's going on and make his matches more dramatic. It's a talent that's greatly enhanced how good he is because he understands how to emote.

It's doubly funny because wrestling is physical theater and comedy has always been a part of it. The whole concept of 'heel come-uppance' lives by it and you can even find certain managers who loudly hate comedy doing pratfalls. Even putting aside Ric Flair's crazy promos and him having meltdowns where he elbow drops his own jacket, the Flair flop is a comedy spot. A little bit of slapstick went a long way in building up the legacy of of one of the consensus greats. It's just such a narrow-minded angle that doesn't even track, historically.

I mean all 3 of Flair's signature spots are varying degrees of comedy... the flair flop, as you said is a pratfall. the Flair Flip is similar... especially when he'd flip and land on the floor outside and then fall over. and getting caught going to the top rope has at least a tinge of comedy to it when even the commentators started pointing out "that never works."
