Yeah, it was a Terry Funk reference, from one of his stories from FMW.

It's a flavored water bit Kenny has done on BTE long before Punk was even employed, and he was referencing Terry Funk accidentally drinking lighter fluid in Japan

You're getting "jumped" because you're spouting nonsense and it's just a bit concerning people are liking that nonsense in solidarity that the EVPs should be fired when the basis is literally incorrect information. I have no magic beans to sell you, because you've eaten them all.

You have one thing you go back to every time, the Punk spot match in Chicago, that's it, a match they played heel and lost and the crowd enjoyed it. That match in which The Elite mocked Punk: last time I checked they were playing heels in Chicago in that match, AND THEY LOST.
Also, that "Pepsi thing" on BTE wasn't even Pepsi. It was water mixed with electrolytes. The bottle wasn't even a Pepsi bottle; it had a white cap on it, when Pepsi bottles have black caps on them. And the label on the bottle had a recycle logo on it, which is standard on most water bottles sold. And finally, Kenny himself in the clip said "What did I put in this?" Meaning that he put stuff in his water. So no, it wasn't a "Pepsi thing". But I'm sure that won't stop you in continuing to insist it is.
And if The Elite and Dave have a relationship as you claim, why has Dave said multiple times that The Elite weren't the ones feeding him info lately and the ones who were the most were...........PUNK'S CAMP??

I've been critical, sometimes highly critical, of Meltzer on this board for years. Especially his comments on women. I'm FAR from the only one. He's not above criticism or something sacred in this thread or in any part of the board. Plenty of people who have posted in this thread have mocked his star ratings system, his fire hazard office, his long-standing hesitance to new technologies, etc. This isn't a Meltzer worship board at all.

The disconnect is when people are posting things as "fact" that have been debunked or proven to not be the entire story as new details emerge. The frequent posters in this thread are keeping up with the story every time a new detail comes out so we're quick to update to make sure, for a healthy discussion to be had, everyone is on the same level of being informed.

The "pepsi thing" on BTE was a Terry Funk tribute that had probably been planned since his passing. Nothing to do with Punk.

I'm not sure what you're referring to with the "clothesline spot" mocking Punk.

And nobody has said that the Bucks and Meltzer don't have a relationship. Nobody in this thread has ever, ever said that. They/we/I just don't think Punk's claims that the Bucks "leaked" the particular "info" to Meltzer came from them. All sides have denied it, and there's nothing to suggest otherwise beyond Punk having a hunch.

If you'd like to share why you think that's not the case, please do so.

To be honest, I am fine with The Elite mocking Punk, as long as they show taste and don't take it too far. Right now, Punk is very mockable.

I think in a situation where a dude clear cut assaulted fellow wrestlers, got his friend a cushy job despite said friend bitting another human being in a fight that he started, had an absoulute deranged rant on stage that caught everyone off guard and overshadowed a few of AEW's ppvs with his own bullshit, I can see why folks would bag on him more than Meltzer or the Elite in this case.

As far as I know, neither of those have lunged at their boss, screaming about quitting.
