With the 1-2 punch of the Teddy Hart series and the Casey Anthony project they’re making TLC look like the epitome of ethics by comparison. And TLC is about as carnie trash as it gets!
I’m not sure if there’s anything else in the pipeline, but that’s enough.
The Casey Anthony case is more troubling than Teddy Hart because at least that one doesn’t try to make the subject look good.
Still, I have to believe NBCUniversal execs strong armed WWE into airing part of the Teddy Hart series after Raw. HHH has way too much sense to want to publicize that his industry helped create the human dumpster fire that is Teddy Hart.

I agree. I was going to watch something and it was postponed until tomorrow.
They told me to hold on...for one more day.

Don't forget that Joe vs. Carol show. Peacock in general is in a constant scramble to find something that'll get attention because it's a service with no growth that's ads are mostly for itself.

The general public always gives WWE the short end of the stick, but it’s by no means dragging Peacock down compared to this other stuff. I’m sure Peacock will crank out some more. If the Buffalo Bills keep winning I wouldn’t be surprised if Peacock shines another sympathetic spotlight on a certain former running back

If you don't want to join Peacock to watch the 1980s horror movie The Pit, featuring an evil teddy bear and a hole in the ground full of monsters, then Peacock doesn't want you either!

I was going to say the Teddy Hart thing looks like an actual documentary and not like a puff piece about him and how much of a great wrestler he is that you don't know... and more about... how he is reportedly one of the last people to see a woman that disappeared and he keeps changing his story about that...

It’s definitely not a puff piece. You don’t even have to watch the whole thing to get the impression that Teddy Hart is just vile. But that whole series is just designed to appeal to people’s base freak show curiosity. Of all the things to follow Raw with that is just bad optics. No matter what someone thinks of Raw it’s one of the largest wrestling shows today, overall probably the biggest of all time. People aspire their whole lives to make it to that platform. Then you follow that up with a show that makes the subject look bad but is still dedicated to this f*** up. It would be like following up the gymnastic portion of the Olympics with the Larry Nassar Variety Hour.

Peacock was a big mistake because NBCU just doesn't have the catalog depth to fill out its service the way Disney or even Warner does. And the original programming is shit compared to other services.
It relies a lot on live sports events and besides WWE programming, that's really not something reliably scheduled.

This is the problem when every studio decides they longer want a piece of the pie, but rather the entire thing. Universal could have had success continuing to work with Netflix. Having their old shows there. Making new ones. But they wanted to play with the big boys like Disney and Warner. This is where I appreciate that Sony understands they can't beat them in the streaming game. Working with Netflix, Amazon, and (in a few years) Disney to host their content and making new ones for those platforms. I hope that, whenever the bottom drops on Peacock (and it will) that they're quick to start working with the other streaming services.

Did the lose the rights to some of their titles or something? Because I would have thought they did have the catalog to make this work, especially with NBC produced TV series'. You are clearly right, because other than classic WWE, BTTF, classic horror, ET or Jaws I don't think I've watched anything on Peacock. Wait, I watched a few episodes of the new SBTB. It was okish.

Universal doesn't have as deep a catalog as Disney or Warner. And with NBC, a lot of their best shows were produced by other studios. It's why Friends (which is incredibly successful on streaming) is on HBO Max and not Peacock.

Well at least they have a monopoly on Dick Wolf? lol (even if the first 9?ish seasons of Law and Order aren't on there for whatever reason).
SVU is what I've been using my Peacock sub for, more than WWE.

I watched part of the Casey Anthony series. I think one episode where she claimed that she didn't kill her daughter and then 20 minutes later said she lied all of the time.

SVU is what I've been using my Peacock sub for, more than WWE. Apparently it's a thing where there are just so many episodes that combined with it being a largely self-contained show it's just not seen as worth how much you'd have to pay in licensing to have the whole thing. I assume SVU gets by despite having more episodes because 1), it was always the more successful of the two shows, and 2), it's a bit more narratively-driven than the original.

I’ve been busy binging past Yellowstone seasons with Peacock. That show’s too addictive.
The Casey Anthony case puts too much of a bad taste in my mouth. It’d be one of those docs where I’d have to quit halfway through. I made it through just three episodes of HBO’s Woody Allen documentary. After a while it was like, “nope. Mmh mh. I’m tapping out. That’s just nauseating.”
