How often has this happened? This thought sprang to mind recently. We've had Ted DiBiase and Sgt. Slaughter on the same roster and their finishers are the same. However, DiBiase called his move the "Million Dollar Dream" while Slaughter used its standard name, the Cobra Clutch.
I also recalled that Diesel and Sycho Sid being on the same roster and they both had powerbombs as their finishers. However, Diesel called it "The Jackknife" and Sid's was just either a powerbomb or "Psycho Bomb." In reality, I know there was somewhat of a distinct difference because Kevin Nash just quickly dropped his opponent when he set up the position (some of the time it looked weak). Sid did it similarly at times, and then there were times when he just threw his opponents to the mat.
Any other examples?

Bret's sharpshooter v Sting's scorpion deathlock in 97-99 WCW and obviously all the years they were in separate companies.

Big Show briefly called his Chokeslam the Show Stopper while Kane and Undertaker were using their Chokeslams in 1999 (and often needing the Chokeslam as a finish since Austin couldn't take a Tombstone).

Malenko’s Texas Cloverleaf and Eddie’s El Paso Lasso were the same IIRC. Ironic given both were in the Radicalz and El Paso is in Texas so there was no need for the renaming.

Eddie's move was a bit different, as he grabs the opponent by the ankles and then plants his knee into their back, whereas the grip for the Cloverleaf is on the thigh below the crossed legs and he sits directly on the back.

Eddie’s Frog Splash and RVD’s 5 Star frog splash. D’Lo might have been there for a minute doing the Lo Down at the same time too.

Heath Slater was using a move called "The Sweetness" which was more or less Dolph Ziggler's Zig Zag when he came into WWE. Then he started using an Impaler DDT called The Smash Hit, only for Bobby Roode to use the Impaler as the Glorious DDT when he came to WWE.

He also used the jumping flatliner/self-Rock Bottom for a little bit as well, which I'm sure would've coincided with Shelton/MVP/Truth (whichever one was there at the time).

Amusingly, he had several finishers called The Sweetness, since it seemed to shift a lot, and the jumping flatliner is likely one of them. Not quite the same in execution, but both Trent Beretta and Hangman Page use over the shoulder reverse piledrivers. Trent's is the Strong Zero(Or was it The Crunchy? I forget which one's the name of the tag team variation with Chuck doing a diving stomp to them during), and Hangman's is the Deadeye. Trent's looks more brutal, which is probably part of why Page fairly quickly into AEW began using the Buckshot Lariat as his finisher. Adam Cole does the Panama Sunrise, which is basically just a Canadian Destroyer, which multiple people in AEW use, most consistently Penta, who I think maybe calls his the Mexican Destroyer.

I may be wrong, but IIRC Slaughter never used the cobra clutch when he was on the same roster with DiBiase. After he came back in 1990 he started using the atmomic noogie and then switched to the camel clutch.

I forget when exactly but RVD and Eddie had a feud over who had the better one. King: Now, be honest JR, who did you see do the frog splash first? JR: D’Lo Brown King: WHAT?! JR: You said to be honest King: Ok…who was second?

Rock Bottom vs Book End was half the motivator for their feud.
