It's amazing how TNA was a proving ground for a lot of concepts that others would later use (smaller guys getting over & women's wrestling working) but they just never fully latched onto those ideas themselves. 80% of AEW's roster would be X-Div guys. Despite all the veterans crying back in 2008, this version of pro wrestling is profitable. Granted, i don't think it's perfect and some guys can be refined, I just object at people trying to ruin a style for no particular reason.

Nash has also said that when he started his feud with the X Division before the PCS series, that he was going to end up putting Saban and Shelly over but an injury stopped that. I remember the Team 3d angle actually being over and really helped Jay Lethal and for a brief little bit Johnny Divine as well. The Hulk years though almost killed the X Division dead There is a legit piece from the Observer in 2007 that says Nash purposely planned his surgery to avoid jobbing to Sabin. Like anyone who has had a major surgery in their life knows how stupid that comment is. Surgieries are not fun and the rehab with week long stints in the hospital are miserable. Like not only was he the first heavyweight in WCW to job to Mysterio, his body was literally warped due to knee issues.

It's not new. Lou Thesz buried the shit out of Harley Race, as did Karl Gotch. TNA's an especially tragic case, though, since the X-Division and the Knockouts were the standouts, and remain to an extent the standouts for Impact, and they were constantly undermined. If TNA hadn't caved to these pressures, maybe it wouldn't have died and had to be reborn, like, multiple times due to "TNA" becoming a tarnished name in wrestling. It's hilarious that Thez and Gotch buried a guy who would've been the kind of tough bastard they have would liked.

Guys body went through hell.

I'm pretty sure that Race's toughness and fighting skill are part of why they didn't like him. Race wrestled a much more theatrical style (which is obviously where wrestling was headed) and the old guard didn't like that a guy who had the chops to do what they did was "exposing the business"

Guys body went through hell. And as been said, he wasn't medically cleared to wrestle when he did tear his quad. Basically WWE made it seem like they needed him to wrestle so he called Disco to go to his house and get his gear and the one thing Disco couldn't find was the brace for his leg.

Established wrestlers putting the kibosh on acts hotter than their own.
