Are You Gonna Go My Way?
I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

I very much enjoyed it. I do have a suspicion that they're going to make a Minions style movie with the mini Stay Pufts

This IMO is a movie that tries to pleases everyone and yet ends up pleasing no one. While I agree with the sentiment, the general audience feedback and box office suggests most people are in fact very pleased with it. I think, in general, Ghostbusters fans don't much care about quality as they do about familiarity and nostalgia, or perhaps equate familiarity and nostalgia with quality... though they'd hardly be alone amongst the fandoms in that.

I've been a Ghostbusters fan for decades, and I'd honestly rather just see a good movie. And Frozen Empire honestly felt like there was too much going on for its own good, both in terms of the story and production in general. I came away with these impressions... {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} - Finn Wolfhard and Callie Coon could've been edited out of the movie entirely since they pretty much had no bearing whatsoever on the plot. (Something similar could be said about bringing Celeste O'Connor back to play her character from Afterlife, since any random actor could've been in the same spot and it would've served the same function.) - The story seems like it's all over the place, like it became disjointed through editing and reshoots. I don't think they even said the name of the guy that runs Winston's Ghostbuster lab, yet we're just supposed to act like he's a familiar character. Meanwhile, scenes with Trevor hunting Slimer feel like they were tacked on for no reason other than giving Slimer a spot on the movie (which I could definitely also say about the library ghost's cameo).
- Related to the previous note, I'd have loved to have seen more of Phoebe and Melody's story and more scenes with Winston and Ray discussing the future of Ghostbusting. - The whole "firemaster" thing felt really poorly done in my eyes, and that's saying something in a franchise where a giant marshmallow man and the Statue of Liberty have marched through New York City to get involved in fights with a Sumerian god and a painting possessed by a long-dead sorcerer.
- And is it me, or was I the only one disappointed that all the promotion hyped up everything being frozen, only for it to happen just in the final 15 minutes? I can say the same about how they promoted that "every ghost they've ever busted will be back again," but the only past ones that showed up were Slimer, the library ghost, and the mini-Stay Pufts.

I enjoyed it-I particularly enjoyed the story with Phoebe and Melody-I'd like to see that explored in a sequel

I think all the actors did really well with the material but {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I'm not a fan of the trope where the heroes create the world ending problem and then try and solve it - much like Age of Ultron

I saw the special IMAX showing of Ex Machina the other night and forgot about the great Ghosbustets joke a drunken Oscar Isaac makes. That will likely be my only Ghostbustin’ in a theater this season, as I truly loathed Afterlife.
