I haven't watched The Santa Clause in a long time and I had to do a double take when someone in the movie describes Tim Allen's Scott Calvin as 38 years old.
I just turned 36 in October.
Oh god I'm almost as old as Tim Allen's character in The Santa Clause.
I remember watching that movie as a kid, I was 10 when it came out.
I FIRMLY REJECT THIS REALITY

I misread this as him claiming he was 38 in the newer TSC.
I had the Patsy Stone meme prepared as such.

f***ing love The Santa Clause. I watched the first 30 minutes again recently and it amazed me how much I identified with Allen’s character, whereas when I was a kid, I related so much to the son.

Like you said, Tim Allen's MO is "successful, wealthy guy gets in zany shenanigans that teach him that there's more to life than making money." This dates back as far as, like, Jungle 2 Jungle. And Will Ferrell's is always "guy is at the top of his field, but suffers a fall from grace, and has to work his way back to the top while learning to appreciate what he has along the way." That same general plot applies to Blades of Glory, Anchorman, Talledega Nights, Semi-Pro, Land of the Lost, and in some ways even movies like Elf (Buddy's fall from grace is having to leave the North Pole).

It's weird to me to see people like Brad Pitt or Christian Bale in their old movies now. Can tell it's the same person, but those three decades onscreen are showing.
Allen had the debatable advantage of never looking that young in the first place. Still seems to be about the same now.

Just gonna drop this here: Jason Alexander is like Jim Cornette where they just look perpetually 50 no matter how young they were.

Hell what little I saw of that new Santa Clause show, Allen seem to age more gracefully and looks younger then the actor playing Bernard did.

Watching early Cheers and knowing everybody is in their early 30s is sad

I'm the same age as Jim Jones was when he shot himself.
Not sure what to do with that information.

I’m a big Law & Order fan but I’ve never seen Carey Lowell in anything else, so she’s looked the same to me since like 1996, then imagine my surprise seeing her during the reboot, suddenly she aged 30 years in like 10 seconds in my mind.

I'm 39 and over 300lbs. Now I'm also 6'2 but I remember growing up watching the Simpsons and them making a big deal of him being 260. He's also roughly in the ball park of my age now and I still have my hair. I think the only saving grace is he's more average height. Still a tough pill to swallow.
