It all began with this. Walt Disney released his first full length animated film.

I genuinely love the animation, the "Hi-ho" sequence in particular.

There's some great stories about the production and release of Snow White in Bob Thomas' Walt Disney biography.

It’s kind of wild that we are living in times where the children that watched these old school movies/shows when it first came out are probably very elderly or dead

Compared to movies like Bambi and Cinderella in years to come, the animation looks pretty rough in a few areas, but for the time the only thing that even came close was Fleischer Studios. Without the success of this, Disney would have closed it's doors, like so many other studios did around this time.
I'll always associate the movie with the McDonald's toys that were released in 1993, for which I ate a lot of Happy Meals to try to get all the Dwarfs, but I never got Grumpy and Happy.

I'm surprised Disney got away with letting the dwarves call Snow White a Ho.
