When he was a face in 2019, he was kind of a flop and turned everyone against him because his frustrations got the best of him and it bled through twitter. Once he turned heel, his character work got a lot better. He played the over the top, cocky, slimey, somewhat delusional heel that could also back it up because of the accomplishments he had. I never wanted him to go face again after that, but they have been doing good with him so far. Nothing really changed about him except the fact that he panders to the fans sometimes. He is still cocky and egotistical but the crowd loved him and probably finds it funny.

It feels like one of those things that shouldn't work on paper, but I'm loving it. It's refreshing that he still dislikes some faces, like Lashley and Cody, too.

I like it, I didn't think he could be a face again but it's working.
I really would like to see him and Roman mix it up again as he is the only one who managed to get in his head during his title run.

I think it's consistent with a lot of a modern turns in that there's no definitive turning moment so they can flip-flop if necessary. Usually I'd argue it hurts the characters, but I feel the Rollins' deal benefits from being able to walk the line. It also helps he and Omega trade 1a/1b for who can claim best wrestler in the world on a weekly basis.

He's doing a good job of toeing the line without changing too much about what has made his character work in recent months.
His character right now could be a face versus Austin Theory or Bobby Lashley, but he could turn around a start a feud with someone like AJ Styles or Edge or Cody Rhodes and change virtually nothing about his gimmick, and he'd play the heel just as well.
The biggest problem with his 2019 face turn was how he leaned too hard into being the plucky underdog, and that's never worked for him. He can be the cocky "Drip God" and get cheers just as easily as he can get boos.

Not every wrestler can play an unironic Jungle Boy style babyface. Seth found a more comfortable role for him as a Johnny Valiant type eccentric.

I think Seth getting paired with Becky is what killed the guy. "The Man's Man?" Really? They really didn't need to have Brock beat Seth just to have Seth beat Brock again at SummerSlam.
Then, the Bray stuff is what put the nail in the coffin.
Who can blame the guy for being frustrated and venting on Twitter too much when that's the shit they're giving him. He was the best in-ring performer in the company from 2018-2019 and that's why he got that Universal Title run in the first place. The match with AJ for the belt after Mania rocked and then they just proceeded to fail the guy creatively.
The reason Seth got over like he did was because he's just so damn talented in-ring. In that run, they really should have just let him be the workrate champion that defended against everybody instead of marrying him to Baron and Bray for the run.

Seth's current face turn feels organic and he's not a typical paint-by-numbers dweeb babyface like he was last time. It's what got his last heel gimmick over with fans and just applying it against heels now. You lean into why the fans were cheering you lately instead of just losing all your edge.
Seth also just seems a lot less insecure and immature compared to 2019. I'm guessing fatherhood gave him perspective he didn't have before. That and not having Vince McMahon's shadow over everything.

Waluigi was the missing piece in Seth's vision board

He was pretty much utterly out of things to do as a heel, so it works by virtue of being refreshing.

Helps that current face Seth can now have fans singing his theme song and not have it feel forced.

As long as they don’t have him cowering in a corner and SCREAMING in horror at Bray Wyatt crawling at him, he’ll be fine

His theme is one of the few that actually improved when WWE switched from CFO$ to def rebel as their in-house composers. That might sound a bit "damning with faint praise," but his def rebel theme is pretty good while his CFO$ theme sucked.

You know all that weird shit we like to joke about Rhea and Dominik doing? Just do all that stuff for real, but with Seth and Becky instead.

I'm a bit behind on Seth's current baby face run but they should look to the 2019 Seth Babyface run and realize the per example how not to book your potentially new top baby face. At best he works better as kind of likable but still cocky arrogant baby face then whatever the hell he was supposed to be in 2019. Stuff like being Becky's boyfriend really hurt him badly then of course screaming like a baby when he had Bray get in his face.

I feel like at this point, Seth could low blow Santa Claus and the crowd would cheer him because they just find him so entertaining.

Seriously tho I remember watching either the Rumble or Mania in 2021 after being totally out of touch with wrestling for a year and immediately falling in love with new Seth after dude cut like two A+ Waluigi promos about ZAZARO

Did they even mention that Seth has now joined The Miz as the second two time Grand Slam champion?
