Mallrats in Captain Marvel is weird.
In Mallrats, the Marvel Universe is fictional. In current View Askew stuff, they reference the MCU. So if their universe is fictional in the MCU and the MCU is fictional in their universe it doesn't make sense.
Of course, Clerks is also somehow a fictional movie in the View Askew world....head explodes.

Bohemian Rhapsody practically grinds the movie to a halt for a Wayne’s World reference.

Jay and Silent Bob exist in the Scream universe, implying that the View Askewniverse, the Scream universe, and some form of the MCU are all one and the same. Which would mean the Asgardian actor playing Loki looks exactly the same as the twice-fallen angel Loki.

Not a movie, but it was really weird seeing the clip of the Simpsons episode Cape Feare in One Hour Photo. I understand the context, but they could have chosen something that wasnt known for being comedic.

Of all the films to have the main characters, including Max Cady, watch in the theater, I have to say Problem Child is a wild choice.
Its nuts to realize that John Ritter is technically in a Scorsese movie,

The fact that they mentioned Superman and Batman in "Eternals", a Marvel movie. They also mentioned Superman in Spider-Man. And it wasn't just an offhanded mention, Phastos' little kid pointed at Icarus and said "Hey, you're Superman! You fought that monster on TV and you can fly and shoot lasers from your eyes and you have a cape and everything!" And Icarus' only comeback was "I don't have a cape.."

Superman must be a tv show in the MCU (I mean, it is in real life too, but you know what I mean) due to the whole "you fought that monster on tv" reference.

The kid was referring to footage of the fight that was on the news, the fight at the beginning of the movie was very public and in downtown London. So, yeah, but it's still strange for a Warner Brothers/DC property to be mentioned like that in a Disney/Marvel property. At least I think so.

I didn't realize they were actually supposed to be Jay and Bob in that. I thought it was just a Kevin Smith/Jason Mewes cameo like in Fanboys or Scooby Doo Meets Kiss.

would pretty much every non-Batman character in the third act of The Lego Batman movie count?

Critters in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It cant even count as New Line wanting to cross-promote, it came out in 1986 (and the Ninja Turtles movie was released and is set in 1990). The Archie comic adaptation made it Batman (well, implied, as Raphael is walking out saying "Great car, stupid costume"), which at least was somewhat more contemporary.
