The women's Rumble was worth it for the RTC Ivory bit alone. Her post-match promo is also excellent and unintentionally prophetic in talking about how "substantial female" Rhea Ripley needed to make a change:
I don’t think leaning into the whole domme mommy thing was what Ivory had in mind.

The absolute cavalcade of goobers with Imagine Dragons themes was hilarious Ridge Holland Madcap Moss Rick Boogz All like one after the other The Rumble tends to be the only PPV of the year I watch and I had zero f’n clue who these dudes were. This rumble was so damn bad. I have high hopes with 2023 since no McMahon is involved, but I also hope HHH doesn’t overbook it with a bunch of NXT returns and at least some legends and decent storytelling.

I watched the Rumble with friends that don't actively following what's going on and it was a nightmare trying to explain where these dudes came from because I only started watching again like 5 months earlier so I barely had a clue either

Another thing that absolutely kills me to remember is the fact that Bad Bunny was just another dude in the Rumble. Like he was literally downed in the corner biding his time at one point.
The fact that I don't see dude's name in this thread once is a testament to just how anonymous dude's appearance was, good god lmao

F***, did none of us actually watch this match? All anyone remembers of it is the Shane stuff, and 90% of that is backstage gossip with like 10% of actual match.

What? That's hilarious. I know they crossed paths in TNA, but they were never especially synonymous with one another. Hell, neither would be in either's Top 5 TNA opponents. Awww, who could forget the legendary faction, Fortune? Holy shit, you’re right. Deep cuts.

This was a terrible, all-time worst Rumble match BEFORE Brock showed up and won it in 2 minutes.

To make the Roode/AJ staredown even better. It happened at like #4 or 5 and Roode got dumped shortly thereafter. TNA chant happened though. lol

I don’t think I’ve watched it back since. I might try in the next month but man I remember it being terrible.

This was a terrible, all-time worst Rumble match BEFORE Brock showed up and won it in 2 minutes. Brock Lesnar was just this dark cloud that hung over the entire men's Royal Rumble match, like he just felt absolutely inevitable from the moment Paul Heyman turned on him in the championship match earlier in the evening. So when he showed up at no. 30 and easily dispatched everyone in the ring like they were absolute garbage in two and a half minutes, it wasn't so much upsetting as it was disheartening. You weren't mad, you were just disappointed. Honestly, I didn't even realize how weird the Rumble match was as it was happening, because it all felt like this interminable slog toward Brock Lesnar's inevitable victory. Shane McMahon and Bad Bunny were in the final five. Otis eliminated Rey Mysterio. Madcap Moss eliminated AJ Styles after Styles had been in the ring for nearly 30 minutes. Kofi Kingston f***ed up his annual elimination save spot and was gone in 21 seconds. Half the competitors were ousted in under 7 minutes. It felt like it was booked either by a committee or totally at random.

At least the 2020 Rumble, which was also framed around Brock, gave us moments like Brock being impressed by Keith Lee and Drew eventually eliminating him to a huge pop.

The 2020 one was cleverly structured and had a flow to it. Sure the first half is Brock dominating, but it built to Drew taking him out, and they did a good job of keeping things varied even within the basic 'Brock destroys everyone' story, from the Keith bit to the comedy segment with Shelton.

Probably the lamest Royal Rumble ever. I mean, look at this list of entrants from 10-20 in the Men's Rumble:
10. Angelo Dawkins 11. Omos 12. Ricochet 13. Chad Gable 14. Dominik Mysterio 15. Happy Corbin 16. Dolph Ziggler 17. Sheamus 18. Rick Boogs 19. Madcap Moss 20. Riddle
like seriously, how dull is that? it's the wrestling equivalent of that Peter Griffin "WHO CARES?" video.

What struck me about the Men’s Rumble in particular, was how lazy it was. There was no storytelling in the actual match, the previously established stories weren’t progressed, there were almost no cool spots, and no one felt like a big star.
It was basically “29 guys waste time, until Brock shows up and wins because he is who we actually care about.

I think the only chage to it I would make is that instead of Ricochet lowblowing Brock before McIntyre eliminates him, it's Kofi that does it.

Watching the Womens Runble from January, I forgot about this moment:
Byron Saxton - Hey, it's Cameron! Naomi's best friend! Sonya - They're friends? Byron - Yes, they trained together, they were tag partners. Sonya - So Naomi cares about her? Byron - Lots.
Sonya Deville immediately enters the Rumble and kills Cameron.
Corey - What did you do, Byron? Byron - I thought we were just talking!
Hahahahah
