That's always when they play one of your favorite songs.

Or, as I call it, 'GTA: Vice City Syndrome'.

My ten minute daily drive to work generally consists of:
The last 30 seconds of a great song Three minutes of ads A really crappy three minute song Three more minutes of ads The first 30 seconds of a great song
Most days I just put on a cd.

Sounds like me. The worst part when I flip through the stations I listen to, one seems to play the same song as if the station doesn't change the playlist. "We will Rock you/we are the champions" by Queen Always on.

I used to have SiriusXM (till the price got too high and they wouldn't haggle lower like in previous years), and even the metal channel I liked would repeat whatever was new/what the record companies pushed, with perhaps an occasional deep cut at 7:00 AM on a Sunday.

All reasons why I gave up on Radio decades ago.
Last 3 vehicles of mine only reason the radio got used was for my FM transmittor. And now I just got a aux connection from my tablet or whatever straight to the car stereo, No need to hear songs i dont want to hear and ads, plus local DJs are annoying, when I got 300 or more CDs and close to 30 gigs of music digitally.
But also might be I do longer drives. Just to get to town is close to 20 minutes. Also might be a good percentage of what I listen to either never gets played on the radio or hasnt in decades. Rather than wait on say 95.4 to play something I can toss in the CD and hear it.

I still have a CD player in my car but il usually just play what’s on my phone through Bluetooth instead.
Can’t remember the last time I listened to the radio in my car other than to listen to football commentary.
