It’s really sad to see a 70 plus year old Flair insist on wrestling especially the way he looked in his last match (wrestling in a shirt, looking old, looking like he may die in any minute and having a bad match.)
So Ric said he wants to die in the ring? Doesn’t he have any consideration for the fans who are going to be watching this, or anyone in general? No one wants to see Flair die during a match. How about his opponents? Imagine wrestling Ric and inadvertently killing Ric by doing an offensive move (though to be fair, the wrestler may have the option to refuse to wrestle him.) How about the promoter? (Yeah, I know that with VERY FEW exceptions, promoters are very scummy but I am sure they don’t want wrestlers dying on their watch. Not even Vince wanted that.)

Having no consideration for anyone else is pretty much the theme of Flair's life sadly.

Ric trying to get booked for a Buried Alive match.
no one should ever book him again for a variety of reasons but this is just out of pocket.

I have this theory that Ric Flair left wrestling after WM24 and quietly retired to Belize. The part I haven't figured out yet is the identity of this pathetic old bag of bones masquerading as the 17 time champ seemingly for the singular purpose of completely burying his once great legacy.

The truly sad part is that at this point in his life he can only see himself and his life through wrestling. Forget his children and grandchildren (if he has any). It's all about him and wrestling. He can't separate his in ring persona from real life. It's like The Nature Boy Ric Flair battled Richard Fleihr and won.

There's a bit in the Horseman dvd where Paul Roma talks about Flair being Flair is a drug Ric doesn't want to come down from. Say what you will about Roma, but time has proven him right there.

Much like Keith Richards, he actually expired years ago.he’s just so thoroughly pickled that the message hasn’t reached every nerve ending yet.

I'm admittedly a little confused - we knew that last match was kind of messy. Did he say something in the doc that has people revisiting this topic?

Having no consideration for anyone else is pretty much the theme of Flair's life sadly. Bingo. I'd be very very happy if people stopped giving the guy the attention he's been whoring himself out for.

Even if he wanted to come down, he's spent so long being Ric Flair that I'm not sure he would even know how to stop. Everything about him smacks of him being a confused and unhappy man who probably couldn't cope with not being Ric Flair anymore.
And it'll kill him, either he'll die in the ring like he wants or he'll drink himself to death or something, and there will be a load of hucksters who will let him.

Bruce defeated the demon and went home to see his family and repair their relationship. Flair lost. I still think the tipping point was Reids death. Flair was rough before but I think that finally broke him.

Which is messed up in its own way. What happened to Reid is awful, but Ric also has 3 living kids too.
Like it seems like poor David never got a fraction of that love when he was a kid.

I was looking at Superstar Billy Graham's facebook out of curiosity what he's up too. After Ric's last match he made a post destroying Ric for not letting go and for putting on a shameful match at his age. Of course, Billy had a photo Ric signed to him where they are both smiling. I wonder if Ric accidentally snubbed Billy at a show. LOL. Billy is such a strange bird. One one hand he posted such a lovely tribute to John Studd and he will post a few nice things about guys but there's some guys he tries to destroy in his posts and it comes off like true hatred. I do get hating on Flair for some regard but I think in the grand scheme of all he's done, wanting to keep wrestling if worse than some other things he's done. I also highly doubt he really wants to die in the ring unless he already has a death sentence. The man is too egotistical to die if he's healthy enough to keep going.

David is probably the happiest of 'em all too, as he's been out of the business for the better part of 20 years and lives a normal life with his wife and 2 kids.

Everyone involved in his "last match" should feel badly about themselves. Hearing Conrad pimp out that event for months was gross. Like, that's your father in law you shameless f***. Dude might actually *die* out there.

Yep. It's interesting that for years that Flair got away with politicking and being self centered at the cost of everything around him, simply because he has "work rate". I'm glad people have been calling him out in recent years.
