To everyone who’s like “who cares”, aren’t renegotiations coming up in a year? And don’t ratings play into that? So as a fan of the product..doesn’t it make sense to care? I ain’t being cheeky or hypothetical either, I’m seriously asking. Mainly from the times Meltzer’s talked about it, it ..seems to matter?

I ain’t being cheeky or hypothetical either, I’m seriously asking. Mainly from the times Meltzer’s talked about it, it ..seems to matter? It matters, but it's also out of our hands. It's the sort of thing where like, if there are some patterns I don't like in the product in the future that seem to correlate with ratings going up, I'll sigh and say fine. But I don't see any reason to fret and armchair book in the present. Plus: I always care more about the ranking, which is holding pretty steady. The story for years has been that less and less people are watching all of TV, which means the average was very likely to go down over time as a matter of course. As long as AEW is still one of the shows doing best with that shrinking landscape, I should still have my show in the future.

What really pisses me off is that the local Dunkin' here went from being 24 hours to closing at 9PM. Bastards.

Show was good. Don’t care who else watched outside my own home. Having strong opinions on ratings in 2023 is overrated imo. As long as the show isn’t getting cancelled anytime soon. Who cares? When your parent company is gutting everything they can find and you are in line for new tv negotiations with them and other stations…ratings mean a whole lot to anyone who enjoys the product

Dunkin eliminated cashiers near me, you must use a card or digital payment if you go inside to order food, you can still pay cash for drive thru though as an option Most places have the Kiosk's now, but still have an option for cashers, Dunkin's one of the first I've seen where if you try to go in, you need a Debit/Credit card. My sister went to a Slipknot concert last year and it was the same thing, her friend brought a bunch of cash for merch and it was all card only.

We have 2 McDonald's in town and 1 closes at 12 and the other is 24/7. I work 3rd shift so of course the McDonald's beside my workplace is the one that closes at 12.

Granted, I like the option of kiosks as far as ordering and keeping human interactions to a minimum on days where my anxiety doesn't want to deal with it. But eliminating cash option entirely is awful.
Less cashier jobs also means less options for your precious outlaw mudshow spot monkeys once AEW is forced to close its doors forever!
(I tried to channel Mothman there lol)

As long as the number is above 800K, I don't see the need to worry.

They're consistently coming in top 5 for the night that they're on.
They keep getting the same core audience plus it minus about 200K people every week, I wonder how that fluctuation compares to most shows on TV

I have no idea how this thread took a detour into food talk but, much like the end of AEW because of one bad rating, its inevitable isn't it?

They are some acts that need to be Rampage exclusive to help their character development like Swerve faction, Gunn Club tbh.

Losing 200k in one hour ain't great. People don't like Jarrett, and they don't like it when McDonald's locations who used to be open 24 hours aren't open 24 hours anymore. I have no idea how this thread took a detour into food talk but, much like the end of AEW because of one bad rating, its inevitable isn't it? Damn right it's inevitable.

So looking at the broadcast network ratings, looks like some shows did a little better than usual, some shows did a little worse than usual. NBC's Chicago block did very strong. Everything else did okay I guess. CW was a wasteland as usual.
