To get you in the mood and ready for tonight's Royal Rumble. Here are the matches from 2021 when they were in a bubble.

I truly can't fault him for going to AEW — given how Vince had apparently never really thought much of him, and his run there has been good — but man I would've loved to see Christian get one last full-time WWE run

The 2021 womens match is genuinely great.

Of all the sucky things about wrestling during Covid one of the worst was having to watch Royal Rumble matches with no proper crowd. It's such a massive part of the match with the anticipation as the fans count down from 10 each entrant and the pops for any big surprises. The Thunderdome could never replicate it.

Man. Cole paying tribute to Christian’s debut in ECW with that reaction to his return lol "And speaking of Edge, here's a friend of his" - killed it. Though I'm still disappointed we never got an Edge and Christian in-ring return. Another thing to blame Vince for.

I truly can't fault him for going to AEW — given how Vince had apparently never really thought much of him, and his run there has been good — but man I would've loved to see Christian get one last full-time WWE run Like, even with Vince’s bias against him, I genuinely do not get how with all the amount of nostalgia baiting WWE has done for the past decade or so, as recently as last year with Steve Austin and would have been this year if Rock was 100%, you look at the potential of Edge and Christian winning the tag team titles 20 years after their last reign and with both men back from career ending injuries and go “Nah”. It’s mind boggling to me. Impact can reunite America’s Most Wanted in the 2020s but WWE can’t do Edge and Christian? How does that make sense?
