The one thing you can absolutely guarantee is... there will never be a point where there is no debate as to who the best player ever is. A guy had three Hall of Fame worthy careers across separate periods of his run, won seven Super Bowls including one in his mid-40s, was the best player in the league at 44 and broke every statistical record there is. That guy has been retired a fortnight and already people reckon he's lost his spot as the greatest. Trust me, Mahomes could win 10 Super Bowls and by the point he has retired there will be someone else who people will argue is better. I think Brady is the greatest winner, I mean shit I think in their primes Rodgers was better, he could make throws Brady couldn't dream of. Winning seven Super Bowls is harder than any throw. Depends how you want to define it, but winning to the level that he did (more rings than any NFL franchise) can never be understated.

Just like in baseball threads as a Yankee fan, you bear the burden of having insufferable fans on your side. Browns fan here, considering defecting to the Jags after certain actions in the past year, fan and ownership alike.

A lot of people are going to continue to say Brady's the best just like they do with people in other sports. They'll point to rules changes, lack of killer instinct in players, etc, which just highlights that it's futile to compare different players in different eras with different circumstances. True but sometimes greatness just overcomes. Besides it's awesome to discuss what ifs: Could today's QBs handle the defenses of the Bears, Giants or Jets of the 80s? Even further back of the Steel Curtain or Purple People Eaters? Would've Johnny U & Jim Brown be Even better in today's game? And for the love of God, could've anybody of any era stop Jerry Rice?! Sure but people take it too far because it then becomes what you saw and what you lived through. Then you have people undervaluing, usually today's players, with arguments you can't "prove" either way.

Was it a correct call by the letter of the law? Sure. But to put the whistles away on those kind of calls for roughly 58 min only to make one with the game in the balance is trash optics.
That said, it's not the reason Philly lost. Philly ultimately lost because the defense got absolutely boat raced in the second half and the coaching staff made zero adjustments to counter it.

That and it's fun to joke about Tony Khan throwing wild coke parties after big wins. But yeah, I wouldn't blame any Browns fan for jumping ship after getting Watson. It's not like they have done anything to earn fans' loyalty except just happening to be the local team. Though it does make me curious how fans without a local rooting interest or being born into it choose a team. You're British right? How'd you end up a Browns fan?

If Watson becomes a top 5 QB there the fanbase will forget all about it.

Also, I forgot to say this last night. But Nick Sirianni is the ultimate Look-At-Me-Louie. What a clown.

Patrick Mahomes in 2022.... - Won regular season MVP - Won Super Bowl MVP - Led the NFL in Pass TD - Led the NFL in Pass yards Only 3 players have done in a whole career what Mahomes did in 1 season (Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner). Comparison is the thief of joy, enjoy the moment “Best ever” is always debatable because there’s seldom a definitive #1 and if Mahomes wins seven he still lost in the AFC championship AND Super Bowl to Brady. He’ll never be able to get those losses back. You can try to argue the case as much as you want and people will always be able to throw that back in your face, forever… end of story and there’s nothing you can do about it. Patrick Mahomes doesn’t know or care about you and doesn’t judge his happiness base in where you rank him. Enjoy the moment, every year is supposed to be different. Every year it’s better to win a championship than praise somebody as the GOAT.

The Eagles had a year where they went 14-3 with tbeir best win being against the Giants. Then beat the Giants and Josh Johnson to make the Super Bowl, where they were 10 points up against another obviously injured quarterback. There's a very good chance that they never get back here, which must make the ending to the game incredibly difficult to take. That was probably their shot. Which, as very much a non-Eagles fan, is hilarious. But I think they have every right to feel hard done by. Posts like this honestly make my eyes bleed. Acting like the Eagles are "frauds" is f***ing ridiculous, acting like they can't make it back here with the core they have? Even more so. We lost by 3 points to the perceived new goldenboy of the NFL and they needed refs and a shitty fumble to do it, with all due respect, no, the Eagles aren't done. Next time if our defense decides to make one f***ing stop in the entire game, maybe we win the Superbowl and posts like this happily don't exist, so it goes...

The point is that it was the only PI/defensive holding called in the entire game. To let that exact thing go all game (and likely worse if you watch all the plays back), and then suddenly decide to call it at a point it decides the Super Bowl just feels totally arbitrary. Football is a imperfect sport, if you called everything it would be unwatchable. But in that moment the ref should've had to have seen something really egregious to throw a flag, and it just wasn't there. If the ref sees it, it should be called. And it seemed pretty egregious, he held him twice. Once with the right hand where he grabbed the jersey and kind of spun him and then once with the left hand once the receiver still had some separation despite the first hold. Hundreds of thousands of people called the penalty bullshit, even top sports stars in and out of football F*** the refs, they didn't call that shit all game, but they decided to call it when it would decide the game.

They aren't frauds at all, *but* they got some happy bounces that may not replicate next year. Getting to the SB is no promise, this may have been their shot for a few years

I'm just in no mood to see this bullshit, already lost the Superbowl, these posts just kick me when I'm already down.

Christ leave him alone lol His antics on the sideline too. It's pretty sad when the 24 year old quarterback has to calm his 41 year old head coach like a child. Though all credit to Jalen Hurts. He's got a pretty good head on his shoulders. Take it because that's the nicest thing I will ever say about the Eagles besides "At least they aren't the Cowboys."

My Uncle's a Giants fan so I'm easier on them than most people If you play the Cowboys or Commanders, I usually root for you, unless there's division/playoff seeding in play lol

Why was Fox pushing so hard that Andy Reid was retiring?
Dude said he hadn't even thought about it and it's not a consideration at this point.
