If there had been a movie about an aging 007, which Bond actor could have pulled it off best at 65?

Pierce Brosnan, hands down.
I haven't seen it but by most accounts he was a bright spot in Black Adam.

Visually looking, Roger Moore has already done it with A View to a Kill.

I think Brosnan would have been better than Connery when it came to being an “older” Bond, strangely enough.

Moore was pushing it with View To A Kill at age 57 (though I still enjoy it). Craig was 53 I believe when he bowed out of the part but he didn’t look anywhere as long in the tooth as Roger did (to the point where Connery at the time was asking for someone fresh).

I think Brosnan would have been better than Connery when it came to being an “older” Bond, strangely enough. That's probably because older Sean Connery was more interested in chewing the scenery than being Bond. Brosnan can still pull the suave 007.

My parents are both 62, so after seeing them at this age the idea of an action hero in that age bracket seems increasingly silly.

Visually looking, Roger Moore has already done it with A View to a Kill. Frankly, so did Connery in "Never Say Never Again".

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Dalton in anything that I did not love him in. Some people may be down on his turn as Bond, but he wasn’t trying to play Bond from the previous films. He was playing Bond from the original novels, where Bond is thoroughly burned out and broken. The charm is no longer natural, but rather an act.

People sleeping on Dalton in this thread. Man has aged like a fine wine and at 76 I’d take him over Connery doing Diamonds are Forever or Moore doing…like…half of his movies.

Dalton still looked pretty damn handsome in Penny Dreadful back in 2014. Think he definitely could've given it a go.

Sean Connery was 66 when he did The Rock, and still looked like a legit badass. He could’ve deffo pulled it off.

Yeah, I'd go with Timothy Dalton.

In my head canon, "The Rock" is basically a Bond spin off.

People sleeping on Dalton in this thread. Man has aged like a fine wine and at 76 This was my serious answer. Dalton has always been my ideal Bond, despite not having more opportunity in the role. He knew how to walk the line as far as suave instead of sleaze than any other Bond.

How the hell have we not gotten a Brosnan vs. Dalton movie by now? I don't care if didn't have the Bond license, get me a film where the two square off as retired badass agents.
