How the hell have we not gotten a Brosnan vs. Dalton movie by now? I don't care if didn't have the Bond license, get me a film where the two square off as retired badass agents. It is surprising that these guys trade in on the role so little. I can watch an old DeNiro box and old Stallone like Raging Bull vs Rocky in the old folks home but I couldn’t get an aging Bond actor playing an aging Bond like character called back into service and trying to find their old mojo after time has moved on without….oh that’s just Austin Powers. Well..something else then. The Rock really is as close as we ever got. Unless you count Never Say Never Again where Connery looks infinitely less badass than he does in The Rock. special mention for Dalton’s turn on the tv show Chuck too. He was excellent on that. |

Sean Connery was 66 when he did The Rock, and still looked like a legit badass. He could’ve deffo pulled it off.  I was just going to mention this. |

My choice is also Dalton, though I don’t think he’s too fond of the Bond role after everything that went on with his exit from the part before Goldeneye.
Coincidentally, George Lazenby played an aging secret agent named James on a 1989 episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents when he was 50.

Sir Roger Moore wanted to get all former Bonds on an ensemble spy movie like the Expendables.
Everyone but Sean Connery was onboard, but sadly Sir Roger passed away before anything was resolved.

I really don't know of how many more times I can mention Nicolas Cage as the person who should play James Bond before it officially gets run into the ground as much as my mentioning of classic 90s WWF Jobber Bert Centeno.

I don't know about that, but it would have been interesting if they all had cameos in one of the recent Bond movies, all playing different characters, but they all share a scene together playing cards or something. Lazenby immediately folds,Dalton is forced to fold due to an untimely circumstance, Brosnan eventually folds once he sees he things aren't getting better, Moore has a bad hand but keeps bluffing, Craig calls, Connery has the winning hand and says "Bow down to the King" or something. |
