AEW also airs on TSN's family of networks in Canada, which ESPN has a 30% stake in.
But yeah, between that and this news, maybe the wishful thinking of AEW (or any wrestling) airing on the Mothership or the other US ESPN's isn't so wishful after all. At the very least, it shows to Warner that there's more than one suitor for media rights.

Even if it's not an American deal, it's still wild to see ESPN and AEW on the same press release.

Clearly they’re going to have to sign more Samoans now. Joe isn’t even related to Afa, he may as well be Riverside Joe. 😂
Interesting development nonetheless.

It will also be streamed on the Kayo streaming service here in Australia, which makes it one of the rare instances of WWE's weekly shows and AEW's weekly shows being available live on the same platform.

What's interesting to me with them airing it here in NZ is that Sky air the WWE on Sky 5. In the past they aired Impact during the Hogan years but got a pretty bum deal. I think people suspected that the WWE put pressure on them since they were airing Raw, SD, NXT and Main Event at the time.
I know in Australia recently they've gotten rid of the Network and are on Binge and Foxtel. I'm interested in seeing what the next WWE deal here will look like.
As far as AEW on ESPN here goes it's a shame because Fite is a much better app than SkyGo. SkyGo is very unreliable.

Should point out for Australian ESPN in Australia is not on the Binge streaming service that hosts WWE in Australia. ESPN is if you want to stream it is on the Kayo Sports service. So in Australia AEW is sport, WWE is Entertainment.

I always laughed at Sky's bullshit explanation for why they stopped showing Impact was due to low ratings. But when you consider that Impact's airtime was 11pm on Saturdays, what did they seriously expect with such a shitty airtime.
