What are some tv show or movies that came out after the 80s that portray pro wrestling as legit?

Top of my head, the first Spiderman movie.
I guess that episode of Regular Show as well.
There was an anime a few years back as well.

Married with Children when King Kong Bundy wrestled Bud, as well as when Al wrestled one of the GLOW Girls whose name escape me right now.

Just finished watching a Korean Drama called Masked Prosecutor where the main character pretty much uses wrestling moves to take out bad guys and towards the end has a match which is pretty much is taken as real!

Technically an episode of the Punky Brewster sequel series. The WWE episode portrays an Alexa Bliss/Charlotte Flair feud as legit, even down to one of them using a chair (not a steel chair, but an actual wooden chair with arms) on the other when they run into each other at a meet and greet.

Rodney Dangerfield was taking the Tatanka match he was watching in Natural Born Killers seriously.

Family Matters' wrestling episode sort of does. I know the Bushwhackers were originally going to go easy on Steve and Carl, but I do not know if that was a general "work" thing, or because they specifically knew Carl and Steve were not the "Psycho Twins" they were supposed to wrestle and inexperienced nobodies. It's been too long since I saw it last.

It's been too long since I saw it last. The episode is on HBO Max. I could go back and see it, but from what I remember, Carl was told that the people in the back knew that they weren't wrestlers. So the Bushwhackers were told to go easy, but then they started shooting on Carl and Steve when they find out Carl was a cop.

Are there any examples where prom wrestling is featured, other than Aranofsky' "The Wrestler" where pro wrestling is prominently featured and shown as a work? Most examples I can think of wrestling in media shows it to be real for comedic effect.

The Simpsons
-A very early episode had Bart & Homer sizing up a match like a legit contest. -Local Man Thinks Wrestling Is Real -Bret Hart went to see a house dressed in his wrestling gear and seemed excited about getting to fight The Shrieking Sheik outside of the arena.

As I remember, with that first one, the kids are aware it's predetermined, at the very least Lisa is, but Homer and the guys in the bar think it's real.

Weirdly, White Wolf's World of Darkness setting had (has?) a wrestling promotion where competetion seems to be real, and supernatural creatures compete: Extreme Wrestling Warfare.

Body Slam = real No Holds Barred = mostly real, except for Brell wanting RIP to lay down for Zeus after 10 minutes. Rocky III = work, but Thunderlips really manhandled Rocky for the show.

Late 80’s/early 90’s John Ritter comedy Stay Tuned had a mixed tag match that was treated as a real fight, though that could have been a result of the supernatural nature of their predicament.

Family Guy's wrestling/Thanksgiving episode ends with Meg hitting Peter's sister with a chair. It ends with Peter talking on the phone to the hospital, unsure of his blood type, not wanting to check and then informing the family the doctors said there's nothing they can do.
So I guess, a wrestler dying offscreen as a result of in-ring injuries counts as a shoot.

Ready to Runble seems to play it both ways. We hear King and DDP calling spots in their first match, but everything after is implied to be Gordy, Sean and King shooting to get revenge on DDP and Titus. That is unless you believe DDP’s fan theory about the whole thing being a work.
Similarly, Fighting With My Fsmily portray the AJ vs Paige match as a shoot.

The original Charmed had a wrestling match that was real, but they were demons, even if played by Booker T and Scott Steiner, I think it was. Or was one of them Buff Bagwell? It's been a while.
