I always took it as you tried to shield them from swearing so you didn’t have a 8 year old shouting “f***” in public. For me the biggest issue in that is your kid shouting in public, not the word Alright. Then how about parents are trying to avoid having their children swearing conversationally in elementary school. That example work any better?

As i stated earlier it is always the people without children that are the loudest when it comes to how children should be raised.

Chances are your kids are going to learn curse words from other kids than the media. That's how I learned.
Fun fact: I learned what the middle finger meant in first grade when I got a cut on that finger and accidentally flipped off my teacher while asking for a band-aid.

Seeing how savvy my nephew is with tech (he's 10), I don't think any of my attempts to regulate what they consume would work. It's not exactly that hard to consume AEW on the million social media channels that exist today. Don’t undercut yourself as an influence to him. If he looks up to you, you can still set an example. I don’t have kids, again to reiterate, but I work with them. As far as the thread question..it’s weird. Some episodes seem perfect for kids. Others? Not so much.

That example work any better? I think the main issue is, why are they swearing so bad? This kind of thing just isnt a worry where I live.

I have 2 daughters (6 and 8) and neither of them really have an interest in pro wrestling, they might sit and watch for a couple of minutes while I'm watching it but it's not something they'd seek out themselves. I don't think either of the 2 big companies are 'child-friendly', to be honest. Not in the sense of being too risqué but just in terms of appeal, obviously some children of wrestling fans will get into it, but I don't think either WWE or AEW are putting out stuff that kids would scroll by while knowing nothing about it, think 'that looks cool' and want to watch more of it. AEW for example strikes me as a very 'millenial' thing in terms of its appeal.

Well, my oldest is 9 years old and hasn't shown any interest (yet) in wrestling but my wife and I would wait till he's a bit older before letting him watch it even if he were interested, nothing really to do with the swearing though but more to do with Peter not being that good with blood. Hope and Liberty are too young for any interest in anything other than say Teletubbies lol.

To be fair, I still don't think I'm mature enough to be watching AEW, but I do anyway.
That said, I'm now going to call everyone I see a TWAT.

If I had kids, sure. I'd sit them down and explain that it's make believe like anything else and not to repeat or copy what they see on television (and I'd have the exact same discussion if it was WWE). Mind, I'm very much not into pearl clutching to begin with. I played Mortal Kombat when I was like 7 and I turned out fine.

Good news, everyone! www.shopaew.com/aewkidsAEW Kids shirts! Unfortunately, no House of Black shirts. Would have got one for my son's easter basket! The Blackpool Combat Club Kids Shirt made me laugh. The Acclaimed one made me laugh 🤣

I’m much the same with yourself in regards to pearl-clutching though I’m keeping the kayfabe brother and saying they can only do it because their trained to do so and like you say if you sit down and explain why it’s not appropriate for them to do these things then it normally isn’t an issue. Case in point today when we were out driving I brought up Saraya getting fined for using twat in her promo and we were laughing because its a common normal insult up here but when I pointed out that it’s on a level with the c word, my daughter (who watches wrestling with me) asked what the c word was because we don’t swear in front of our kids so she had no frame of reference. I told my daughters that it’s a really bad swear word, that I would say it once so that they knew what it was (just because in my opinion if you treat stuff like this like a big forbidden secret then their natural curiosity will make it seem like a bigger deal than it is) and that if I ever heard either of them say it then they would be punished as it’s not an appropriate word to be saying and it answered their question and we moved on

I don't have kids, but if I did I would let them watch. I started watching the Attitude Era when I was 10 in 1999. I had no business watching it at that age lol (just like many people around my age who grew up on it). I would just tell them that all of the bad things they see and hear are things that they shouldn't do at all or repeat around adults. My mom knew it had questionable things and still let me watch. I would be a big hypocrite if I said no.
