As I sit here watching "The Replacements" it occurs to me that I would much rather watch this movie on TV with commercials and all then to watch the DVD which I own. It's weird but just watching the movie all the way through doesn't do it for me, but if you give it to me with breaks ever couple minutes I'm in.
Anyone else have movies they are like that with?

lol, I'm watching the Replacements too.
But yeah, I'm more likely to watch any movie on tv than on home video. Idk why.

It’s not the same thing…because watching anything with commercials over no commercials is completely nuts….
But I will say that in a similar vein I saw Halloween in theaters last October for the first time in my life…and I like it better on TV/Streaming/DVD/Blu-Ray/VHS…whatever you got. It’s the only movie I’ve ever seen that I enjoy more on a TV. The cleaner the print the better the movie works. The scene where Michael fades in behind Laurie in the door way with the dimmer lighting the mask doesn’t work nearly as well in theaters. It’s an effect actually improved by restoration.

If you're sitting around going, "I like the 90 minute movie to take 4 hours to watch, with commercials every 12 minutes in the middle of scenes and whole plot points cut out for more commercials", you are nuts.

The only occasion I watch movies on commercial tv is in a group setting. At a gathering of some sort. Usually a movie the group knows well. So we can socialize and have some background thing other then music or games

We like to watch movies on TV for background noise as we do puzzles, play games, cook etc. Guess I'll tell the wife we're nuts and need help.

But it is always a film I have seen a pile of times. And she does it while cooking nad other things. Works great for when you need background noise but don;t want it to be anything that needs your full attention. And also I am not watching a movie on AMC. They are the worst at taking a film that is 1 hour 20 minutes and airing it in a 3 hour slot.AMC=Add More Commercials. Back before streaming I had about 4 movies that if I caught them on Cable I would watch them till the end. All stuff that for some reason back then I didn't own a copy of. A League of their Own,Demolition Man,Casper and A Very Brady Sequel

I always have the TV on, but I mean to sit there and watch a full movie with commercials?

I guess to me it's part of the experience. Like with the Replacements first time I saw it was on tv with commercials so I guess that's just how I'm used to watching. Plus with 3 kids running around its just easier to watch that way.

I guess there is a reason I am reluctant to watch movies on Tubi and Pluto TV. I don't like the amount of ads.

I remember TBS was the absolute worst for the numbers of commercials they'd shove in and how much they censored even mild stuff.
That said, I have been streaming for years and would not go back. Whenever I visit my mom and watch her tv it throws me off just how many commercials there are.
Also, never watch It's a Wonderful Life on TV. Talk about a freaking slog.
