So, with Like A Dragon: Ishin getting a PS4 release, this means that both the original and the remake are both on the same console.
Has this ever happened before?

Not sure if you would call it a remake but link awakening had both a black/white version and a color upgrade on the same system.

Not quite the same as it originally came out a decade before but Resident Evil 4 was eventually ported to the PS4 and the remake is out next month.

It’s not exactly the same but Dark Souls had a PS4 port and the remaster was on PS4 as well.

The 3DS could play Return of Samus well before they remade it as Samus Returns.
There's also the HD remasters of the first two Life is Strange games, games were already on the PS4 and One as it was. ... And look and run better than the remasters do.
