Say let's all assume that Cody is winning the title from Roman at Wrestlemania. What if, at the same event, Nick Aldis debuts and then becomes the next challenger for the belt? Would this all be the crux of whoever ends up buying the WWE? To get an epic World Title feud that rivals their feud for the NWA World Title?

I honestly could maybe see Aldis getting a shot in WWE, but that'd be a really amusing gun jump to have him do that right off the bat.

I dont think Aldis is ever coming in to WWE.
I dont know who he pissed off, but they've never tried to get him as far as I can remember, and he's been around for a long time.
Maybe, maybe if they felt like doing something with Mickie and he comes along as part of that....but generally I think time passed on Aldis.

His asking price could be too high and wanting a main event push. He's solid in the ring, but that's it, neither WWE or AEW wants to shell out big money to get him or give him a big push.. There's something that's keeping him from WWE and AEW, and that's my guess. Neither company will even bring him in as a package deal with his wife, and both companies brought in Mike Bennett.

Aldis is the "major free agent" with priority over Jay White, confirmed?

Just try to imagine if Zack Ryder was thrown into the mix of things. A Cody/Aldis/Ryder triple threat feud could be exactly what the new regime is looking for.

I kind of just assume that Aldis must be a total pain in the ass to work with, because I remember chatter to that effect coming from his time in TNA and it'd explain why seemingly no company of note wants anything to do with him.

Apparently AEW made him an offer in the real early beginning start days but wanted him to leave NWA and he thought he should be able to do both, and I can think of no better example of the kind of difficulty he represents than the idea he thought he was worth the headache of having to work with Billy Corgan to book. There was no way AEW was going to give him anywhere near the sort of push and protection that NWA would want. And clearly AEW hasn't changed their mind on him since he left NWA; I think Aldis's overestimation of his value is just too big of a bother for anyone to deal with because he's nowhere near good enough where he actually is to justify tyring to deal with meeting in the middle between what he wants and where he is.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Nick Aldis' only major contribution to professional wrestling was being Mickie James' baby daddy.
He needs to accept that.

I know he's apparently got quite the ego, with Ricky Starks and Zicky Dice saying he was a dickhead to work with. That said, I also think he liked being a big fish in a small pond, up until Billy Corgan wanted to move on. He picked an absolutely terrible person to do it with, but even Billy wasn't going to give Aldis the title for a third time. With Mickie in Impact, maybe they give him another chance there, but he'll probably be miffed they won't let him beat Josh Alexander.

Yeah, he’s never been a bad talent (unlike Tyrus), but that would be an insane immediate shot into the stars. At this point regardless of whose fault it is, after so much failure around him Nick Aldis comes off as seriously snake bit. Still, the WWE machine is big enough and overshadows so much of the rest of the industry that if they wanted to, it wouldn’t take much image rehabbing to give Aldis a decent push in the company.

If WWE gave him the time of day, he'd probably fit right into, say, the US title scene. I'm sure he'd feel like he should be above that, but I mean, he's not above Lashley, Seth, or Cody, and all three of them have challenged for the US title.

What if WWE brought back Harry Smith and gave him a main event push?
We could potentially have a Nick Aldis vs. Harry Smith world title feud. Throw Cody and Zack Ryder into the mix and you've got a spiffing good world title scene for whoever buys WWE.
Who else could the new regime bring in to the new main event title scene? Slapjack? No Way Jose? Erick Rowan? Eric Young? Darren Young? Darren Rowan?

I do think if they bothered to give Nick a shot, they'd probably push him to at least an extent, but he definitely would not be getting the AJ treatment.
