LA Knight should hold a midcard title after Mania

Dude is catching fire right now and I could totally see him being a Main Eventer. I think he should beat whoever is IC champ after Mania. Maybe Sheamus wins it at Mania and then drops it to Knight at Backlash.

Backlash feels kind of quick for Sheamus to drop the belt, maybe they could do it for Summerslam. But yeah, Knight has done better than I had anticipated. I was sort of worried he was going to get EC3'd.

So much of Sheamus’s chase for the IC belt is just the desire to win it. If he has a long reign with it or not, I’m not entirely sure he’s fussed either way. Like, it’d be nice, but it wouldn’t kill him if he lost it in a few weeks.

I'm not sure about that. I think he should have a consistent TV role but he shouldn't be having a lot of TV matches necessarily, especially that go long. He's a fine worker and he's better than Elias but he reminds me of Elias in that the crowd pops for him on the mic but it doesn't always translate to his matches. So book to his strengths and a title that often requires longer matches doesn't do that.

Exactly! I think Knight would benefit more from a longer reign. Knight can drop it to Jey Uso eventually. I feel like that could be a hot fued as well

I think he should kind of be Smackdown's Miz. Let him host a talk show, occasionally work a longer match if needed but otherwise he kind of just stirs the shit. He doesn't strike me as somebody that should be working 18-20 minute main event matches. At first I thought maybe they should rocket him into the main event scene but after seeing more of his work, I don't think he'd be able to hang.

Yeah, his overness in promos/segments doesn't really translate to the ring, like Elias at his peak as you said were his entrance and shtick would get great reactions then hardly anything once the bell rang. I think he would have some boring title matches depending on his opponents.

If he maintains the overness he's getting right now though I might still put the US/IC title on him at some point as long as it's a brief reign and not like a workhorse reign were he's expected to deliver great matches.

Miz won a world title though and LA was a main Eventer in other promotions. I feel like dude deserves atleast one world title win under his belt
