Lex Luger and Sting are a favorite of mine, because they were like the WCW version of the Megapowers, but they were booked like a team that was competitive in the tag team division instead of a dream team that could bulldoze over the rest of the tag division. They had some really fun and competitive matches against the Steiners and Harlem Heat. I loved the dynamic of babyface Sting and tweener/heel Luger.

I loved Sheamus, Rusev, and Barrett as a trio. They just had great chemistry, their victory celebrations were always fun. Adding Del Rio to that mix was like mixing skittles with M&M’s. Putting Del Rio with anyone but Ricardo in WWE was always going to be a terrible idea. Funny aside to that I have to mention: one of the WWE Games (I believe Del Rio's first), I was running the universe mode and played a CAW Sting against Del Rio on Nitro. After the match, Del Rio asked for a handshake and turned face, and he and Sting became allies in the game. And this was the height of heel Del Rio on TV.

With Owens or Cesaro in place of Del Rio, and without Vince’s fixation on Roman, The League of Nations could have been a decent heel stable

A lesser mentioned one is samoa joe and magnus. They got tagged together I'm some likely overcomplicated stip match but ended up having really good chemistry and won the tag belts Oh jeez, the Wild Card random draw tournament at the end of '11/beginning of '12, where very few teams managed to get along for more than one match. People were turning on each other left and right, chief among them Kazarian turning on AJ Styles in the finals as an early part of what eventually became the miserable Claire Lynch saga. It was pretty stupid.

Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman are one of my favorite teams from WCW The Impact Players as well, to the point that I try to team them up anytime I do a WWF 2001 or 2002 EWR game I was a big sucker for Air Boom during the four months they were actually together

The BFG version had winning teams entered into a battle royal for points. I remember that one pretty clearly because Magnus was in it again and drew Anderson. Their factions were feuding, so Anderson was a gigantic dick the entire time yet still got to enter the battle royal because Magnus won the match for them. The ONOs followed the same pattern, one round tournament then a battle royal for cash. Wiki says the 2019 version resulted in the winning team having a match to determine which of them became #1 contender for the world title.

I seem to remember a tournament where there were four established teams and they were seeded against 4 thrown together teams in the first round. Every single random team was two guys feuding with each other, except for the one that had Awesome Kong paired with BG James which was a waste since it was Kong's first time wrestling men in TNA. Then all the thrown together teams lost including Kong's team, so it just turned into a normal tag tournament in round 2.

Google tells me it was Deuces Wild in 2008, for the vacant tag titles. Why were those tag titles vacant? In another f***ing stupid bit of Russo booking, it was because Eric Young would not admit that he was Super Eric even though everyone and their grandma already knew that. Despite being the cause of said vacancy, Super Eric was still allowed to compete in this tournament. He and AJ were fairly successful, but lost to LAX midway through. I remember when everyone was begging for Kong to wrestle the men, but Spike TV wouldn't allow it. They only were able to do it here because it was a PPV. What a waste of potential.

Power and Glory. They should’ve gotten a run with the belts and I’m saying that unironically
