They think they won't get found out, and if they get big enough, people won't actually care about the bad things they do. Just look at the twitch streamers who just play other people's content and go 'oh my god, bro' every five minutes, or just stream empty chairs as someone else's work plays, pretty much everything the Pauls have done, or all the gambling site streamers who fled to Kik where they can sell gambling to minors and vomit racism without fear of banning.

I often wonder if some of these people do these shitty things and actually think, "well, maybe the internet won't find out about this one!"? Like, in this day and age, you can't even fart without someone online finding out and ruining you for it. True, but the fact that people sometimes turn their initial good intentions into witch hunts and purity tests is how that lack of historical anonymity can become something dangerous to generally innocent people. |

I don’t know what how it is elsewhere, but I live in a “one party consent” state. There are people who record every phone call they have. If Karl recorded the call, any laws would be difficult to maintain since it would be Jirard filing something against an Australian. Karl actually dropped another video today that just reinforces how much of a liar Jirard is. His claims about working at Best Buy are especially hilariously cringe. Hilariously that was a response to a video by another Youtuber that was seemingly trying to White Knight on behalf of Jirad, but looks like it made the subject's position even worse because of it. If only that third party left well enough alone. |

Oh Lady Emily is great. She's Sarah Z's co-writer and she makes a bunch of her own videos. Honestly, I like her own videos more than Sarah's, but maybe that's in part due to the subject matter. In any case, Chuggaconroy admitted to the allegations being true, though Lady Emily (last I saw) says that's only really partially addressing it since she found out he'd done it to others, too, after the callout, and asks that he hopefully evaluate how he treats women who are friends, peers, and fans in the future, so yeah, it's hopefully going to be a good result when it's all said and done. It got worst today more youtubers are coming out against him and it seems like he's a pest and someone who can't take a hint. |

If only that third party left well enough alone. Said third party has since removed the video and publicly apologised to Jobst. Meanwhile, Jirard has slunk back onto YouTube and trying to act like nothing happened... which is probably the best thing he can do, really. |

Not going to give specific names since they're both pretty small creators and among other things cover some board-unfriendly topics, but there are a pair of people - a man and a woman - I've on-and-off (kind of mostly off, but the occasional check in) watched over the years who just had this huge public split. Basically they used to do everything together in pre-recorded videos and gradually over the years drifted into each doing separate livestreams, and kind of maintained working relations for awhile but gradually drifted apart, with the woman lately throwing out frequent backhanded jabs and unexplained accusations.
The man put out a very lengthy stream the other day exposing the whole matter, which basically amounts to her continually for years on end sexually harassing him (including at one point forcibly attempting to blow him), mining his wife for information about their sex life, treating him like shit, only bothering to even talk to him when she wants to either thirst after him, vent about her abusive wife she doesn't love (while continually refusing to take any steps to address the matter) and dump on him about how she's continually cheating on her, complain about herself to him, or ask for money, and constantly lying about things and trying to hide behind beating herself up to excuse all the things she does without ever actually trying to be better. Provided a huge wealth of receipts on the subject, like hours upon hours worth of texts going super deep into it and members of their mutual friend group universally vouching for him, proving that there's basically no room for doubt that this is what's happening, including as recently as the day before the stream, and she responded with a stream where she basically just petulantly refused to even slightly acknowledge the accusations between non-explained, "I said I was sorry, what more does he want from me?" while continually spouting lies (including obviously contradicting ones, like wanting to end the friendship and move on while also acknowledging that like he said she had texted him the day before) and victim-blaming about how it's his fault he didn't make it more clear it bothered him, including endlessly complaining about him making the matter public when leading up to this he had been ignoring the situation entirely and she was the one constantly egging it on in a public setting and kind of all but saying, "A woman can't harass a man, he's wrong because he's a guy," and, "He's in an open relationship so it's fine," over and over again. Then there's a weird thing with her trying to say he was grooming her because they met when she was 16 and he was 21 while they were working at McDonalds together, even though both sides acknowledge that she is the only one who has at any point attempted to make it a romantic relationship and he's always firmly shot that down. There's also a lot of her tacitly admitting to it all by kind of repeatedly going, "I keep apologizing after I do it, what more do you want from me?" like the fact she keeps engaging in these behaviors is nullified by apologizing afterward.
Whole thing's just a mess. Basically destroyed any interest I have in ever following her work again (and apparently a lot of people because she's rapidly bled subscribers from it) because she really comes off as extremely manipulative and just scummy, while also demonstrating that she has absolutely no intention of even trying to be better, which sucks since it is clear that she does have serious problems and is sympathetic in respects but she just utterly refuses to do anything to address her issues beyond hiding behind them as an excuse to be shitty to people. Sucks since I really enjoyed some of their old content, and of the two's solo work I do generally prefer hers, but she's just kind of so blatantly revealed what an utterly terrible person she is here. Not exactly the most interesting or eyecatching story I guess, doubt many drama channels will cover this one since they've always been rather small names anyway, but as a fan of their old work it does just have me feeling kind of bummed out. Kind of just wanted to vent about it I guess, I dunno.
